CarbondaleWX
City Manager Stegall here: We are pulling some snow plows off the road now. It is simply too dangerous. They cannot see due to white out conditions.

cyclone77
9.3" in the last 6 hours at Moline. That makes a storm total of 16.5" putting it ahead of January 1971 for 2nd all time! 1.9" more needed to tie the all time storm total snowfall (January 1979). Good news. I was starting to wonder about my observational ability there for awhile with all the relative low totals being reported. I haven't done an official measurement yet, but I'll do a thorough one late tonight or early tomorrow morning. All I know is we're over a foot easily. BTW, uploading a new vid to youtube. Will post when it's done.
hawkeye_wx
I have yet to give the NWS a measurement - I know how to measure snow - but I don't think I could give an accurate measurement - no idea Ditto. I haven't bothered going outside in this nasty stuff. I usually send in frequent reports, but when it's windy like this I have a difficult time getting a decent measurement, even in my relatively enclosed backyard. When I go out to blow the driveway in the morning I'll give the measurement a shot.

on_wx
The snow's filling in back across SE MI. Call down man. michsnowfreak
Hear sleet thrashing the windows/roof and cant sleep. This storm had impressive blizzard conditions and lightning, but total snowfall is definitely gonna fall short.
