You win cuz you I had freezing drizzle yesterday afternoon..though that's not how you envisioned it happening. You said .25 of zr here...Regardless you win. Congrats

You will get ZR there probably in another couple hours. He clearly went warmer than you and its correct...admit defeat in fine form and look forward to possible snow Saturday night.

It was a point of discussion between Ekster and I during many late night discussions during '07-'08 winter...as we eventually hashed out the SWFE climo. Its seemed to work pretty well since then....as we both absolutely nailed the 12/19/08 event the next winter.

But obviously each event has its own circumstances...but it was amazing how much we discussed it and came up with these biases that are now thrown around as common knowledge and seem to work well.

Not to make us sound great or anything...but I always thought those '07-'08 winter talks late at night between us created some good stuff.

Yeah I remember reading those, when I first joined. It was good stuff.

It was amazing how cold the NAM was, and how the GFS always came nw and was too far se. Euro was on fire back then. If you blend the biases, you can come up with a pretty good forecast.

Just a reminder for those reporting snowfall totals...

Please include your storm total...don't just report what you've received new from part two...this is all counting as one storm and in the PNS will be listed as one storm.

It makes it much more easier for the person who writes the PNS to have the storm total, rather than just getting total from this round and having to scramble looking back at what occurred from round one and trying to add things up.

I did that last storm when you said to and they had two PNS kept separate. New day new storm

Still all snow, that mid level dry line which just wipes out the heavy has slowed, precip is reintensifying in NJ NE PA, the idea this is over in NE Mass by 9 might be quick.

I wl be honest with you b/c i'm a good fella. I did

not include fzdz as part of the bet feeling that you would get it in any case (dry slot at the end for instance). Thats too cheap for me. I am talking about actual fzra. However in fairness to me, i said UP to .25" not exactly .25. So if you havent had actual fzra yet then you are still in it.

I did admit defeat, He won..I had zr yesterday. But I won't get .25 of ice.

You never answered me..6-12 on Saturday?

Saturday looks ok for interior...but way too early to throw out any amounts...still might not snow...ice is potential too.

As for today...never doubt the Ekster/Schwartz combo for SWFE climo...we worked hard nights for this stuff in '07-'08. Just remember the slogan...."the snow starts sooner but so does the sleet".

We'll see, but that convective, showery crap just doesn't add up....I'll prob see precip all day, but I only care about accumulating snow.

Well in my mind I lost because there was some freezing drizzle. And probably will be some this afternoon. So I lose and you win. I'm happy that the snow overperformed in round 2

So 6 beers for you

They are counting it as one storm...for this event there will be just one PNS including the totals for both parts.

..Please note for all SKYWARN Spotters and Amateur Radio Operators that this storm and its 'two rounds' of precipitation are being classified as 1 storm event so please add totals from day-1 and day-2 together for reporting purposes. Thanks for your efforts..

Well nice to see the 2' amounts off the wx maps in sne..lol. It's pretty classic how quickly everything moves in and out when the mid level lows are nw of you. I think we hit that point pretty hard. This stuff will be a quick hitter and hard to get prolific amounts, asp when H7 is nw of you. Always a given.

They're still too high......I'm not sure how those fine folks employed by BOX can't discern that.

They have forgotten more met than I'll ever know and it's obvious to me.

A little too "snowfall-happy" I think with regards to the recent coastals since those all over performed. This was not like those storms. Those had great mid-level tracks to prolong the heavy precip and put us in the best banding. This one did not.

"the snow starts sooner, but so does the sleet, unless you have 40 microbars in the sgz". Lol
