CoastalWx
Man did the GFS fail miserably on this as far as temp profiles..useless It was fine from yesterday.
Damage In Tolland
GFS wasn't the only one. Let this be a lesson to you. You base all of your forecasts off the GFS and NAM.
weatherwiz
Really? Not with the Hartford area records. They're actually really good. Very good to know...I'll just go back and add the data pre-1950.

weatherMA
Ripping nicely now..going to go out and see if I can get a measurement. I'll go in a few spots to see if the 2.6" was accurate. Must have been in a drifted area or something before. 2.2" new is the accurate measurement. 8.7 total.

weatherwiz
Let this be a lesson to you. You base all of your forecasts off the GFS and NAM. Well it's quite difficult for me to include other guidance like the Euro and Ukie considering the data I can see from them is heavily limited. But anyways from what I gathered the Euro temp profiles really weren't all that different. It's not like I was the only one thinking warmer solution. jconsor
The early bombing and occlusion of the primary low took some of the oomph out of the WAA precip. It has become pretty clear that the "appetizer" was in fact the main event for most of us.
ORH_wxman
It had all of CT 32 or higher dude For sfc it sucked...but dont say "temp profile"...that implies it was awful in the mid-levels...which it wasn't. It was colder and looks right about now.
weatherwiz
It had all of CT 32 or higher dude Yeah at the sfc but I think pretty much everyone thought that was bogus...the more important issue here was how much would we warm aloft and we obviously haven't warmed as much as it looked like we would. CoastalWx
It had all of CT 32 or higher dude No it didn't. It actually was cooler than the NAM for a time, and never ever look at 2m temps on it. All we cared about were the mid levels.

weatherMA
lol channel 7 last night said this storm would "ramp up" 7-10 am...I knew they were wrong. If by ramp up, they mean end quickly, then they are correct.

CT Rain
Oh yeah I meant surface it always is... it's not a mesoscale model and is not going to resolve things that well. For mid levels it rocked.
