wxeyeNH
18Z NAM really lowered QPF for NH. Most of the state is under .75". I don't see any crazy amounts of 15-20" Storm will be moving right along. I got 2" today and I am expecting about 10" tomorrow. Would like to break a foot. weathafella
I'm betting 930 to 1030 it pings in Boston. Double or nothing on dinner. At 21h it's a tick warmer through the layers as the CT is further north. You're on! I owe you either way but it's a fun bet. Naturally, being a snow monger, I hope I win. I say we go past 10:30. OKpowdah
Lol. We're going to end up in the ballpark of 16'', I think. Yeah, you had 6" today? I think you can feel good about 10-14" tomorrow
danstorm
Great to hear some of you did quite well with the first batch... in NYC, the streets and sidewalks are pretty treacherous, though the constant foot/car traffic allows things to stay on the wet side vs. frozen. I'm actually not that upset about tomorrow's outcome here. I still think we retain quite a bit of snowpack and ski country deserves a storm like this... plus, I've seen storms of 24, 22, and 15 inches this season... no complaints from me. free_man
Updated pic. Depths range between 23 and 27". You can tell when the snows getting up on the tripod like that, it's pretty deep. Far cry from other areas but not too shabby.

TheCloser24
LATEST AFTN AFD FROM UPTON VERY CONCERNING FOR INTERIOR SW CT: FOR INTERIOR PORTIONS OF NE NJ...THE LOWER HUDSON VALLEY AND INTERIOR PORTIONS OF NW CT...TEMPS DO NOT LOOK TO RISE ABOVE FREEZING AT ALL ON WED. SO ALL PRECIP THAT FALLS WILL BE FREEZING RAIN ALONG WITH SOME SLEET AND NO PLAIN RAIN EXPECTED. THIS WILL RESULT IN SIGNIFICANT ICE ACCUMULATIONS ON ROADS...WALKWAYS... TREES AND POWER LINES. THIS IS A DANGEROUS SITUATION. NUMEROUS TREES AND POWER LINES CAN BE EXPECTED TO FALL...RESULTING IN POWER OUTAGES. EVEN AREAS UNDER THE ADVISORY AND NOT THE ICE STORM WARNING SHOULD TAKE PRECAUTIONS...AS 1/4" OF ICE WILL MAKE TRAVEL TREACHEROUS AND COULD ALSO RESULT IN DOWNED TREES AND POWER LINES. PRECIP TAPERS OFF BY WED EVENING FROM WEST TO EAST...LIKELY AS SNOW ACROSS THE INTERIOR AND A RAIN/SNOW MIX AT THE COAST. WITH STRONG NW WINDS BEHIND THIS INTENSE SYSTEM...BITTERLY COLD AIR WILL FUNNEL INTO THE LOCAL AREA WED NIGHT. TEMPS WILL DROP FAIRLY RAPIDLY INTO THE 20S...POSSIBLY RESULTING IN A RAPID FREEZE OF ANY LIQUID ON UNTREATED AND POSSIBLY EVEN TREATED SURFACES. TRAVEL WED NIGHT COULD BECOME QUITE DANGEROUS. HA! deal...let's hope later runs come in colder. It's one thing to say that the runs have not "trended" colder closer to the low...but I think that's meaningless as the low hasn't rounded the corner yet...let's see what happens. I'll say this the much maligned RUC has been nailing the changeovers even out 12 hours lately.

ORH_wxman
Keep in mind that's in addition to whatever fell prior to 1pm. Still is a downgrade though I think most areas will be less than 0.80" qpf tomorrow. So quick moving...but who knows with all this moisture...maybe someone can pick up 1" of qpf in 6 hours. ericnh
Keep in mind that's in addition to whatever fell prior to 1pm. Still is a downgrade though I find it hard to believe that with all that moisture in the ohio valley that Nh does not see 1" Qpf even if its .75 our ratios will be high so still expecting 81-14 state wide. plus the 2-6 we had today bringing totals to 10-20" inches

Max
7.2" storm total here for part 1. Just some light sleet right now. Hoping for a good early thump tomorrow. Any word on BDL? Chicopee, Mass had 10" and someone else in Suffield reported 8.5", so how are you way less than those numbers!

CoastalWx
Keep in mind that's in addition to whatever fell prior to 1pm. So quick moving...but who knows with all this moisture...maybe someone can pick up 1" of qpf in 6 hours. The fact that this is by nature a SWFE, and with the s/w getting shredded in the confluence, has been a red flag for leaning towards a shorter duration. I think that 0.7" to 1.0" is a good bet tomorrow across the state ... about 8-14"
leesun
I am in the SE part of suffield. I know Agawam got 9 and the 8.5 in suffield I believe was the NE part of town. I'm curious to what BDL has. Maybe I got a bad measurement, but there is no way I got 8.5" Chicopee, Mass had 10" and someone else in Suffield reported 8.5", so how are you way less than those numbers!
