ORH_wxman
Ok.....I'll defer....my bad. I remember it as being a good event with ~8", though...what did you get... It was a bit over 10" here.
H2Otown_WX
Nice little mini interior snow bomb on the Euro for Saturday night. How's it looking down this way will? Rain to snow?
ORH_wxman
Good. Yeah its good to see BGM go to at least mostly snow (probably not 100% with still 1 mile vis) from ZR a couple hours ago. They have been about on par with N CT and S MA soundings for around 12z....so hopefully we see BDL go to snow at some point too for a few hours. 40/70 Benchmark
It was a bit over 10" here. Reading had 5.5", so 8" sounds about right.....I remember there was a tight gradient along rt 128.

weatherwiz
The LONGEST 90 minutes of sleep I ever had. Went to bed at 11:00 PM and woke up at 12:08 AM...I couldn't believe the clock only said 12:08 AM...I then fell asleep and just woke back up...alarm was set for 3 but looks like I'm up for good. Doesn't sound like it's doing anything outside yet though if it's freezing drizzle I wouldn't hear it.
sankaty
Sleet has begun here. Excellent pellet growth. Think we're easily getting 3:1. j/k

ORH_wxman
Man, I wanted to crash for a few hrs, but I just can't do it....this is so much cooler than sleep. I did a well timed nap from about 530 to 11...which was key. I'd be dead right now if I didn't do that. These storms have been killing me starting in the overnight hours...and going to bed after 18z and before the Euro is the most prudent move. At least for me it was...I got sucked in to staying up through that period in previous events even though its fairly useless.

weatherwiz
Seeing how CT is mainly starting out as IP/ZR this doesn't make me feel good about getting any additional snowfall, unless we get some extra help with dynamical cooling but have to see how warm this warm layer is. I wish mesoanalysis site also had 825 and 800mb...this would be a great addition to their site in the future.

ORH_wxman
LOL, next week is steadily trending colder. Nice cstl on the euro. It went from a cutter through BUF to a Miller B bomb for New England...hopefully it verifies. None of us want the fun to end anyway, lol. Might as well go for record depths...you need stuff like that to pull off records (stuff being getting a miller B coastal out of a pattern that could easily produce a lakes cutter but a weird perturbation in the flow causes a miller B instead)

weatherwiz
Well this blows...went to plymouth to look at the latest RUC to see what it had for temps at 800mb but you can't generate maps for that level...just have to look at skew-t soundings I guess. It's trended colder for sure, but that doesn't mean it can't go back to crossing over Logan11.

weatherwiz
The 6z RUC sounding for HFD would lead you to believe we start as snow here...no precip has started yet so it will be interesting to see what occurs at the onset.

I'd never start locking in a snow event when the pattern dictates that it very well could be otherwise. But its nice to keep getting the breaks we need to turn potential disaster events into big gains....this event included...it could have been a monster blizzard for Chicago that tracked up over Organizing Low's fanny and people out there hardly would've known the difference...but for us we had the PV flexing its muscles in Quebec at the right time to keep us cold. Many of the prolific years had some taint storms which is why its hard to break huge records like 40-50" snow depths....but if we are aiming high, then we need breaks like that to continue. I would just love to lock the Euro verbatim right now because I might have a 55-60" snow depth by Feb 15th if it verified, lol.
TheSnowman
I agree. The fact it blinked was the reason why I cant reall reward it completely. The MNM(matt noyes model) nailed it best (lol). Empowered by no supercomputers but forecasting and weenie pride. Wasnt there a less mentioned foreigner that was close to verifying well? (My horrible memory does not serve me well here) Pete Bouchard said the JAM nailed it. That must be it.
40/70 Benchmark
What an amazing run of the EURO....only real mild day is Sunday and we have 2 more snow storms, after today......you have to be fu**ing kidding me. If climo has any intestinal fortitude what so ever, it won't let that run happen.
