still, if you've already got a big enough warm layer to rain, and it's that cold. yikes...

I think a lot of people were expected to see fzdz tonight in the very light precip. He might go to snow for a while as some better dynamics work in I'd think.

PVD is reporting -SN.

In the daily "what in the world happens at PVD" their original report of 5.7", sent out as a record report by BOX, has now magically been lowered to 4.9". Such a laughable station.

That's actually possible. Different areas of PVD Eastern and Western. Also check the times it was recorded.

That was like 3'' of QPF lol, but your point is fair.

I hope you have flashlights, blankets, firewood, a radio, and charged phones just in case.

Wow, was it that much? I'm at 20/18, so whatever liquid falls should freeze quickly for maximum accretion. I'm just as worried about the 1" of qpf weight, if the wires are staying on the poles tomorrow, then at least the media can talk about the buildings falling down.

coastal wx and jerry should be on the fence...it sounds like ?

A CF could do it but it'd probably be after the heavy stuff rolls through, and I could see my house in south end at 33 while it's 27 in allston/brighton. I'm still thinking we get around 5-8" here before we flip then pretty quickly dry-slot.

Yeah, though were at 31F the whole night practically. Very, very odd icing event in that the roads and cars were just wet all along, but the trees and power lines accrued ice instantly and quickly. One thing that it taught us is that even if it pours, you'll accrue, so don't let mod to heavy rain fool you.

No, that event was an exception to the rule because of a pretty rare phenomenon......Will did a write up on it, but I forget exactly what it was.

Ask him when he gets online.....
