ski MRG
I just find it funny when people who want hundreds and hundreds of inches of snow freak out over some ice. I've been through some significant ice storms in WNY anyway. No freak out here, I just don't want ice cause it skunks the skiing. I've got a generator so I wouldn't miss a beat. ZR is just a depressing reminder that you almost got beautiful snow.
dryslot
Look for that to even out. Soon. Line up the SWFE's, I'll take them all day long over any other storm..
Clinch Leatherwood
NAM is about to spit out some data. The RUC is horrid, it's way warmer than the last few runs of the regular models. Torched to just under Pike or near it by even 9z..then it slows down some.

I've been through some significant ice storms in WNY anyway. Where were you in Dec '08? Was very weird... destruction on epic scale in slow motion... mahk_webstah
Pete to your earlier question about the weekend, I read back through some threads and looked at some AFDs....looks like another storm, not a large one, and some ptype issues but a snowstorm, probably moderate. Unreal.... I kinda got away from the board today...sometimes in storms I spend too much time on here. Went into Concord, played tennis, worked out, shopped, ate...and then rode around a bit in the countryside. What a beautiful scene. Missed all the back and forth in here though...which was fantastic I'm sure. I would've probably just gotten frustrated though as we had terrible snow growth and only got 3.5 inches. You did great though as did many of the other SNE guys. Can't wait for tomorrow. Gonna open up a good red to help me get sleepy
Clinch Leatherwood
NAM init's the same here at 0h, warmer in PA than the 18z.
snowwoman
Another roof collape. Reports that a roof collapse at the raquet club in Trumbull, trying to confirm this now....We have heard many up North not as many in the Southern part of CT.... 40/70 Benchmark
Now you know what an average Winter in GC is like. 30" of snow out there and in urban areas is not the same thing, though.
New England Storm
BTW there was a 6" report from Duxbury in the earlier PNS. I buy it. I was up near there at exit 6-7 when it was .2 miles vis in heavy snow. I was actually just a few miles WSW. Pine Hills had 3.5" about 10 miles from me I think. 10 miles on the other side Duxbury had more...very banded as you all saw on the radar. ...PLYMOUTH COUNTY... mahk_webstah
GYX is staying aggressive up here, going for 12-18 in the zones. Models seem to have qpf an inch or so so they must be thinking ratios. Man the lead up to this storm was looooong...seems like a while since the GTG and we were looking at this a couple days before that. Radar is scary good and it is hurrying over here fast
Clinch Leatherwood
warmer in OH/NW PA near the low, warmer in SE MA than the 18z NAM. Early yet but the dynamics/moisture seem even more split than the 18z to our west.

ineedsnow
i took a drive up to blandford to go check it out and it was amazing i remember being at the bottom of this hill there wasnt much but once you got to the top it was a whole new world! moneypitmike
30" of snow out there and in urban areas is not the same thing, though. That is true. It's not paralyzing out here. We shrug, continually shovel a path to the woodshed, and life goes on.
Clinch Leatherwood
Snowing everywhere by 9z...aside of extreme coastal SE CT, RI and MA/Cape Cod...even there it may be cold enough tough to tell...probably not. NAM is 30-50 miles colder/south of the RUC.

I love the board and hate the board during the events. Like right now, Messenger is busy posting about the warm RUC, MPM posting about reduced snow totals. All true, and all perfectly legit but sometimes I'd rather just let serendipity play out and see what happens. Love indoor tennis though these days I'm just too consumed with the skiing. Speaking of which, time for me to turn in, early to rise and get the fresh POW. GN.

weathafella
NAM does have the snow going pretty decently well before 12Z. 15Z it's a race but the H85 line is JUST S of the Pike....heavy snow in many areas.
