CT Rain
Wow, thats a big temp difference between a few miles.. Just wondering, was the temp taken north or south of i95? Will be interesting to see if we end up getting freezing rain or rain for most of storm. My parents are at 23 and they are basically where no Branford/guilford/Branford come together. DomNH
The 18 hour RUC brings the 0c 850 line to the MA/NH border with heavy precip. I kind of like that given its usual overplaying of warmth.

weatherwiz
And once you get up to 1'' or more, it's all over. I think .5'' is really the threshold from more nuisance ice to limbs/powerlines down ice. In Dec. '08 everything started breaking everywhere once we got a bit over .5'', I think. What could make tomorrow's icing case a bit more worse is the fact that any snow that occurs across part of the state before the flip would probably be on the wet side given how temps will be warming aloft...so this would make it stick to things like trees/power lines a bit better adding extra weight. For the areas that are just far enough north to be all snow the snow has potential to be very wet...so these areas could have some major issues with roof collapses and such tomorrow. NB-Weather
My parents are at 23 and they are basically where no Branford/guilford/Branford come together. I sadly know exactly where that is haha. It seems like once you hit 6-8 miles north of shoreline temps are right around 20 degrees.
bboughton
Is it just me, or is that radar doing something funky? Looks like a branch is sticking out from the main storm toward the storm that just left... I sadly know exactly where that is haha. 40/70 Benchmark
Ok....question for you NNE peeps....this isn't an issue I have ever dealt with before, but am about to.....what do you do when snow depth begins to impinge on the radiation shield of your Davis.....is there a need to clear it away or no.... My depth is about 31"....9" short of history.
OSUmetstud
Light freezing rain at Cleveland Hopkins also. There must be some really warm temperature at 800mb over there. The SPC mesoscale analysis has 850mb temperatures above 0C there.

I would think keeping it clear is better, but my temp sensor is buried in snow and ice attm and is identical to a backup thermo and my car one (pretty much). Maybe it delays temp changes?
