The Iceman
Mount holly is going crazy. .4-.7" for even SE PA. http://forecast.weat...e+Storm+Warning I wonder if they think that the CAD is going to hold throughout the duration of the event...their wording sure does suggest it...can't wait to read their AFD. kerplunk
What would really be bad news is 40mph gusts coupled with 1/2" of ice. Goodbye tree limbs and power. Sure hope this doesn't materialize, but looks like a possibility.
Eskimo Joe
The winds are shifting here in NW Lancaster County (not on campus anymore, nor will I be for the duration of the event) currently out of the north and picking up a bit.

paxpatriot
Temp has dropped from 32.4 here to now 31.3 in the last 40 minutes. Winds have begun to shift, and I'll be curious to see how cool we get before the precip gets here.
JamieOber
NWS has the central mountains getting up to mid-upper 30s temporarily tomorrow late am/early pm and lower 40s in the south - wonder if that will happen.

Festus
Once AGAIN, don't like where CTP is going. Ice Storm Warnings east of here but we're still under WSW. Ice Storm definition says "1/4" or more of ice accumulation from freezing rain." WSW definition says " either 6 inches or more of snow w/some ice accum. or 1/4" ice + any snow/sleet." My grid says zippo about anything other than freezing rain with at least 1/4" potential. So why not a Freezing Rain Advisory (issued just south of the Mason Dixon line) or an Ice Storm Warning (issued just east). Wouldn't that more accurately convey the impending threat to the public better than the WSW which gets issued more for snow type events?
