Rick G
Add in the fact that some locations (Tamaqua and Hazleton) are nearly all sleet, and you may be right. moderate to heavy sleet in wilkes-barre 24.7F
NortheastPAWx
lolconspiracytheory If PS stays open and doesn't salt their streets, then students will trip, break bones, go to the hospital, which means, more people will use emergency/ medical services, which means more money for PS. I see what you did there Penn state. That from the PSU FB page.

hckyplayer8
Resounding crack and I think I just heard our first victim of this event. Couple dead birches around here and by stepping out on the porch and looking at the limbs starting to sag, wouldn't doubt one of the weak ones went already as winds have be on the increase here. Probably pushing 15 sustained and 25 gusts.
Eskimo Joe
A lot of precip breaking out over southern Ohio right now...filling in and the NE winds are strengthening here in Lancaster.
2001kx
also just checked the chicago cam and it looks like something big finally fell on to the sidewalk from the stadium and it looks like they have the sidewalk closed off with some sort of tape? doesnt look like they have a ton of snow there but it could be misleading? I don't root for the destruction of ZR or harm on nobody but they are really amazing, its like the same for those that cheer for tornados, or hurricanes lol or those that want Aaron Rodgers arm to get smeared by a Steeler we don't mean for those that are caught in harms way we are just passionate about the things we like, plus we can't change the outcome any, we can all argue ethics all day but in the end we all love extreme weather, whether we admit it or not

That is the low level damming really kicking in. Even Eastern back by HGR will see some of this, but you and I are in for some serious stuff. Watching plain rain while others are getting crushed is depressing. I feel your pain man. It's not much different than what I went through earlier this winter being 30 miles from whiteout conditions and a foot of snow while I had 3/4 mile visibility and only got 2 inches. Eskimo Joe
You actually think it will cool down here. It's a toasty 32.4. You are 0.4 degrees over the freezing mark, that is not toasty. Given the dewpoints of 30 at Hagerstown and 29 at Krout Airport (extreme SW Adams County) it is conceivable that you could wet bulb back to 30 or 31 degrees, especially since this event is occurring during the overnight hours and not during the day. I'm sorry but I cannot say for certain. When it comes to ice I just watch the thermometer and radar to see how the precip and surface thermal/wind fields align. I can report the northeast side of the house is glazed over, with the windows almost impossible to look out of.

Strange...I figured we'd see Johnstown and Altoona warm before us...they are at 31° and 30°, respectively. Definitely lots of sleet out there now again....parking lot is pretty white.
