RGCentralIL
Hmmm, very strange record report. Even if the 13 inches reported at midnight isn't official, I am certain we got more than 8.6 inches of snow yesterday.

janetjanet998
heavily disappointed heaviest snows to the W? 15-20 inches commmon instead of the 16-22 some were saying The flakes were never huge I think the high winds tore them apart reducing ratios some...55-65 mPH wind gusts around here also models backed off QPF a couple of tenths too

janetjanet998
Ok in the climate data it says total for the month 11.8 inches that is with 3.2 falling after midnight weds morning which seems about right but that means they stll haven't corrected the 8.6 lowball figure from the 1st in the paper it says the saeson total over 46 but only says 43.8 in the climate report.. either a) the mistake isn' corrected yet or we got screwed again by a lowebal figure for the official climate report data every other spotter around him in every direction reported 14-18 inches it would me a shame if we miss the record by a couple of inches if that is the case

janetjanet998
Yes but this is the official total which is from a spotter 2 miles SW of the airport which for some reason always reports the lowest in the area in huge storms...I pointed this out on eastern a few times and posted examples such very odd low liquid to snow ratios for PIA..and even had a met form ILX try to explain it he said with the wind may be hard to measure out there where it is flat However i have seen examples in recent years where they don't use that spotters report as an official report yet at other times they do...so I am confused where the official report comes from these days The offical NWS report for PIA for the official obs was 15 yet only 11.8 went into the climate report,,still confused edit they corrected it 15 for the strom and 46.6 for the season
