Already up to 28F here in New Brunswick and rising steadily. If it were to keep up at this rate I think we'd go over to rain a lot sooner than some people were thinking.

Yeah I noticed that too. We've risen about two degrees over the last hour and a half, which kind of surprised me. Hopefully we start to level off for a while.

Temperature at 26.2 up from 24.9 about an hour ago. Ice accruing very fast. Currently a sleet/freezing rain mix. I must say, the freezing rain was even accumulating on my jacket for the short time I was outside. I stress how rapidly temperatures are rising with the onset of the precip. I never thought we'd stay freezing rain here long after 3 AM and I still believe that even I change over here around then.

Yes, and as a fan of extreme weather I'm not afraid to admit it either. Plus I want Rutgers to cancel classes. :P

Just cancelled through "period 3".

"Due to the inclement weather and pursuant to policy 60.3.16, the university is operating under a Weather Alert – University Open designation on Wednesday, February 2, 2011 . Classes are delayed and will begin at 11:30am (3rd Period). Classes scheduled prior to 11:30am (3rd Period) are canceled. The Weather Alert – University Open designation is in effect until 11am."

Please stop. A 1.5 degree rise in an hour with the onset of freezing rain is not "racing".

What I mean is, every time I look at the thermometer, the temperature has risen another 0.2 degrees. I sincerely expected a slower, more gradual temperature rise.
