I think the advice from him for LaSalle Illinois on I-80 looka very good, especially with the pivot point up that way, Beau.

It's pretty easy to get to it from Bloomington too. Just hop out on I-55 and get to exit 164. That'll get you on I-39. I take that route all the time when going to St. Louis to visit family and friends. LaSalle is about 50-60 miles north, right along I-80 as was mentioned before.

Do you live on the south side? I'd say here north of I-94 we have a bit more than that. I'd say 6 inches total from the WAA.

2 miles se. of the airport.. 24th and goldcrest.. picked up half inch since 5:30.. so up to 4.8" should be lots of upper teens and maybe low 20" reports when this one is all done if it goes as planned.. drifts are going to be insane. can't wait and normally I can't stomach wind during snow.

Kudos to them for doing the safe thing. University of North Dakota NEVER closed! We had to go to classes in 55 mph blizzards and 0 SM blowing snow. Profs often could not make it into class to teach yet the school would never close.axesmiley.png

nuts absolutely nuts

we get ground blizzards a couple times a year (none this year sadly :( , but i cant imagine making people carry out their activities in Plains blizzards wow

Lol sirens are going off here for the monthly testing... laugh.gif

It feels very eeery especially with this oncoming storm..

Same here. It is interesting how much the falling snow deadens the sound. The sirens seemed to be at least 50% quieter than what they normally sound. Usually the cats are scrambling for the basement/under the bed, but they didn't move today.

This LES that has been falling up here is beginning to remind me of 1/1/99 and the similar precursor to the main event in the late afternoon/early evening.

Good luck BowMe, I'm rooting for you...you deserve it. Wouldn't be surprised at all to see YBY eclipse 2 feet when all is said and done. Enjoy it. :)

It's a great sign of the enhancement the lake will provide in the main bands as well.

Not that bad at my house.. But, looks like showers are increasing down to the south. WISH-TV here in Indy says that warmer air may surge further north than projected.. :yikes:

They are riding the NAM then, which doesn't seem to have a good handle on current thermal profiles across the state. The HRRR keeps all of Central Indiana and Western Ohio in the middle to upper 20's throughout the duration of the event.
