mattmfm
I've been on the receiving end of about 4' of MM5 snow that turned into about 6" of slop outside of the last run for an event. If the 24-36 hour rule was applying this year this wouldn't be the case. Note the "slight" shift north from the 0z last night to the 12z today for the forecast centered at 18z today. That's only 18 hours out from the 0z forecast and it sucked. It'll be helpful tonight, it's not worth much right now. Barry Burbank just tweeted the same: BarryWBZ Barry Burbank I'm thinking that there will be a widespread zone of sleet tomorrow after a small amount of snow in Boston along the Pike early. #wbz

Baroclinic Zone
over to ip/sn here. I was out waiting for my daughter's bus and there weren't really any "sleet pettets"....Just weird flakes that sounded like sleet on the car. not sure what it is....Sounds like sleet in the trees, but I can't see any actual sleet. I could see there being some zr drizzle tonight..but the initial part of the storm will start as snow tomorrow and then sleet..before adding on a few flufffy inches tomorrow nite

weatherwiz
Just got home and looked at the GFS for tomorrow...could have some major ice concerns across parts of the state tomorrow...especially just south of the HFD area where they are receiving some from round 1. I even think up this way could get pretty ugly.

powderfreak
Agree, especially considering how easily the mid-level warming has advanced north this afternoon. Traffic cams in Kent County are now covered in ice, must be zr there now. AWT? Mid-level warming always seems to come further north than models think. We'll have to see how it trends tonight because as I've said too many times already thermal profiles in the boundary/mix zone have been putridly cold biased all winter. Really? weathafella
Glad I had the roof shoveled (flat roof) yesterday. Snowing at a nice clip now and I like the radar. I think Barry jumped early if he's baling on S+ for tomorrow up in the Pike area. Despite models, I think the cold will hold longer and fight as is typical in these events. ORH_wxman
Euro doesn't give much help to the BOS-ORH corridor...its a marginal sleet/snow profile at 18z tomorrow in which 0.50" of qpf has fallen the previous 6 hr.
Clinch Leatherwood
We should get the final verdict here in the next few..Euro should be about out that far Euro has been only slightly better than the MM5 down here in the mix zone. Has burned NOAA a lot of times already. The final verdict will be delivered by the 6z models IMO.
