Ginx snewx
One more thing...the 18z NAM, north dakota. 12z Tuesday 534 line cutting on the ND/SD/MN border...bogus. 12z didn't have this, neither did the GFS 12z/18z. Neither does the RUC. Bogus. I think the NAM got some bad drugs at 18z. It may find another way to warm us, but toss this solution in the crapper...I think. Clinch Leatherwood
0z NAM first panel, 0h...552 is way back north instead of into Mexico. 18z NAM for the loss. Good!
Ginx snewx
Very confident the NAM was on drugs at 18z. Man does it have some fruity runs.
weatherwiz
Any new on the 00z NAM? Not sure when that comes out. That's what I want to hear before I head to bed for the night. It's just coming in now.
dendrite
Brian, what are you thinking for VT,NH, and SW ME? You know the area better than I do. I'm partially unconscious right now and haven't had time to look at everything yet, but I'd probably knock these widespread 20"+ totals down a bit. I'm leaning with 12-18" for much of VT/NH/SW ME and then a 16-24" zone in S VT and the Monadnocks.
subdude
lol. Magic Mtn. Wednesday (assuming they open), big phat powder day. You need to find some steep stuff when the snow is deep. VT's hidden jewel on a powder day.
Clinch Leatherwood
Not as far southeast with the 534 which was touching the ND/SD/MN border at 6 hours...further NW this run. Those were the major changes from the 12z and it's backing way off from both. that's probably good news...somewhere Kevin's feety pajamas just got warmer. CoastalWx
SREFs thermal profile look similar to 15z. They are wetter, though.
Logan11
Thankfuly I got out of testifying in an estate proceeding down in Long Island tomorrow. I told them the forecast and they adjourned it till the 16th.... Even down there it would have been ugly for them driving into Queens. So I'm free to enjoy the pre-event here. Though there is something fun about being out in a storm like I was last Wednesday in the white out in Westchester. So many people yelled at me today....as I shouted out the forecast with obvious glee and making no bones about how much I love it. Still...a few snow lovers chimed in... Ginx snewx
Sometimes I think I think I died and woke up in weenie heaven , the only bad part of weenie heaven is the hourly microanalysis of the people in Kansas farting and changing the RUC. dendrite
Nice, get some rest dude. After the 00z NAM I will be counting sheep like Kevin. SREF probably 1.25''+ of QPF for most. Somehow even juicier than 15z and a bump in QPF for far NNE too.
Clinch Leatherwood
BTW I'm mainly speaking of storm 2. Storm 1 it's early but it looks about the same...maybe a little cooler but I'm only out to 9 hours.

moneypitmike
Through 12z, the decision to not close schools looks like a good one--all clear in SNE.
Clinch Leatherwood
NAM looks colder at 12hrs.. vs. 18z Yeah I was farting around looking at the 500. It's colder and it's a little faster note the 8h low placement versus the 18z. So that's impressive IMO to be colder and faster.
weatherwiz
Looks like the CT coast line could come very close to mixing with sleet with round 1 tomorrow afternoon.
weatherMA
Through 12z, the decision to not close schools looks like a good one--all clear in SNE. Snow starts in orh maybe 13z-14z and into Bos by 15z. Maybe an inch in western areas by 15z

Maybe an inch in western areas by 15z My read is snow begins here (Boston area) around 12Z, already the line is into NH/VT/ME by 15z. Snowing moderate to heavily from about Noon on. moneypitmike
Rather expansive area under a blizzard warning (red) Yup--I see the 'home office" in Cedar Rapids is under one. Guess they'll all be working from home tomorrow, too.
Clinch Leatherwood
Notice the NAM has shifted at 8h about 75? Maybe 100 miles east with the low at that level versus the 12z/18z at 18 hours?
