ScituateWX
any reports from Bristol/Plymouth counties?? Just measured 4 inches here in Scituate with moderate snow falling and a temp of 30 currently.
mahk_webstah
Today not impressive. 2 inches as of 11:30. Snow growth mostly bad with a couple of good bursts. Radar not looking good for up here but you guys in Mass are good for a few more hours. That back edge is racing east...
Tropopause_Fold
Ugh, so that bright band on radar was not snow? it wasn't much of anything really. was just some nice steady snow. looks like 2.5 to 3" here. i'll measure in a few.
OSUmetstud
Nick, how much over there in Blackstone? Looks like about 4-5" here. I had 3.5" as of 1105...I doubt I've gotten much more in the past 55 minutes...maybe 4"? I'm going to do a 6hr measurement at 1245.
DomNH
It'll probably get to you...but its kind of trivial how far it gets if its basically dryslotted by the time it makes progress. The question is how much precip falls before it mixes That is what I figured. Kind of like last Jan...ripping snow until the dryslot and then the last tenth or two was crap. No big deal. mattmfm
hmm, In fact...850 mb temperatures cool [/font]between 6z and 12z despite southwest flow at the level which is a good indication of strong vertical motion yielding dynamic cooling. The snow may come down moderate to heavy for a time...but enough middle level warming will probably arrive to change the precipitation over to sleet from Hartford...to Providence...to Taunton corridor by middle to late Wednesday morning. Some freezing rain will also likely occur...but it does not look like a significant ice storm. We still may see one tenth to one quarter inch of ice accretion across a small region from northern CT...into northwest Rhode Island.

Clinch Leatherwood
For the weather people types reading..if you get a 4" report from around Bourne/South Plymouth/Manomet Wareham I'd buy it. I measure light 99% of the time. One could easily say there's 4" out there.

Clinch Leatherwood
Channel 5 Futurecast has me mixing about 4pm...only off by 4 hours. That's my fear for Wednesday. It's 99% sleet and rain now, just a few flakes left. The change was very quick and took under 5 minutes.
powderfreak
Calm down, I was just asking what he thought of it verbatim. C'mon, you should know better than to question anything that is not cold and heavy, heavy snow when the Rev is around.

OSUmetstud
Bob, 3.8" ...0.3" in the past hour Still putrid snowgrowth. Some of the stuff in the past 90 minutes is probably significantly under 10:1 since it's so rimed.
