It'll probably get to you...but its kind of trivial how far it gets if its basically dryslotted by the time it makes progress. The question is how much precip falls before it mixes

That is what I figured. Kind of like last Jan...ripping snow until the dryslot and then the last tenth or two was crap. No big deal.

hmm,

In fact...850 mb temperatures cool [/font]between 6z and 12z despite southwest flow at the level which is a good indication of strong vertical motion yielding dynamic cooling. The snow may come down moderate to heavy for a time...but enough middle level warming will probably arrive to change the precipitation over to sleet from Hartford...to Providence...to Taunton corridor by middle to late Wednesday morning. Some freezing rain will also likely occur...but it does not look like a significant ice storm. We still may see one tenth to one quarter inch of ice accretion across a small region from northern CT...into northwest Rhode Island.

Channel 5 Futurecast has me mixing about 4pm...only off by 4 hours.

That's my fear for Wednesday.

It's 99% sleet and rain now, just a few flakes left. The change was very quick and took under 5 minutes.

It would be freezing rain though right since your temp is below freezing? Or is it just straight rain?

i'd be pretty surprised if wed is much of anything other than rain. the thing to watch for us from here on out (through tomorrow AM) is where the temp goes. i could see some of our area stuck between 30-32F giving us a surprise fzdz event later on.
