I believe ORH stays snow for a while after 12Z, yielding some decent accums before the changeover. We'll see what happens with the 18Z and 00Z runs. Edit: sorry the formatting got messed up. Thanks. Verbatim the gfs probably gives me anouther 7" from 3am to 10 or 11am before the sleet. Id take that for sure considering I might get 8" today. wiley1
Have some sleet mixing in here with a temp of 20.I think the biggest concern for us will be on Thursday when all of this turns over to rain. Lots of drains on the road that are frozen solid and roofs collapsing from the added weight of snow saturated by heavy rain.
sankaty
Ironic that verbatim the NAM has it sleeting here with a critical thickness of 539 at 1PM today, and then snowing with a thickness of 546 for a short time tomorrow.
OSUmetstud
7.75" here in Chicopee, MA....moderate snow. EXTREMELY light. I have no way of telling what the ratio is, but it is very high that seems pretty high.

You would have ice on top of the snow..there's no issues for heavy rain and flooding tomorrow..An icestorm for you is the worry

CoastalWx
Why would it rain in this pattern? Go snow or go home Because it depends on the trough position.

mahk_webstah
Snowgrowth seems very heavily dependent on precip intensity today. OSUmetstud
the radar is pretty misleading here..after that little dry patch came through the snowgrowth became terrible and the visibility is high. heavily rimed flakes ftl.

NJwinter23
It's funny how our sentiments are the same but for totally different areas. I'm content with the 3-6" that appears will fall in total. I'd hoped for 7 yesterday total, hoping for 5 now, around 3 now I think. That's when forecasts were widely 5-10 (channel 7), 9" or so on the snow graphic etc. Snow graphic is 7.2" here now FWIW. Up near you, you've had the same conservative sentiments...in the end we'll both be satisified with what falls. That last heavy burst could dump 1-2" here and make this a good little Cape snow. How much do you have on the ground, could really use the ob
