Storm Cancel. I get 0.7" and then 1.1" of Sleet, Freezing Rain and NOW Rain becuase the NAM has trended SO SO warm. It's Incredible that as Soon as February 1st began, my luck completely ran out. The First model of February, last nights 00z, was the first disaster. January really Did have a Golden Horseshoe up it's weenie hole.

yeah if i was anywhere in the southern 2/3rds of CT i'd be mindful of the possibility of not having power. that would suck with a temp. of 24F.

hopefully it ends up more sleet than glaze but it's going to be hard to fight back the warming aloft and nearly impossible to rid the low levels of arctic air.

The NAM absolutely torches HVN at 800mb and has a sfc temp of 0c which is really impressive for right on the water.

When to coldest model goes way warm I think that may be the way to go. The NAM starts places south of HFD tomorrow as ZR. That's ugly.

You have to think there might be some midlevel cooling behind this first wave today..maybe enough to at least start as snow north and sleet south to mitigate a Montreal 1998 disaster

lol that's not happening anywhere but yeah I agree your area will see enough sleet to prevent a big problem.

IF the NAM is right it sleets up north of route 2 even into SNH for a time

my guess is it is going to be a very sharp gradient between a moderate event and a big event. i agree it won't be too hard for sleet to mix in further north but i'd bet a lot of the heaviest qpf is falling as S+ given the timing of the warm air intrusion.

Haha I knew I'd see a weenie. But really, We've all been talking 10-15+ for so long, and now I'm looking at 8" of crap. EVERY other storm this year wither performed perfectly, or Overperformed. You must Also know that getting 12" for me is ABSOLUTELY Historic statistics. 15" would be the greatest day of my life. You have to understand the statistics I'm dealing with.

Let's see what the Euro does today. Ekster has been silent the last day and a half..and I know he is convinced I get zr here

I was in a meeting all day yesterday and went to bed relatively early last night. I am on shift today and quite busy.
