What's up with the KTAN radar? Looks like there are dry pockets moving in west of Rhode Island even up by Boston?

We'll know within the hour. Right now...it is an absolute snow bomb.....vis under 1/4 mile..maybe under 1/8...crazy!

Edit: Looks like that first little pocket went north of us or is an artefact? Who knows other than ground truth is heavy heavy snow.

Absolutely pouring huge dendrites right now.

Mark, I think we're good until about 3-4 then it tapers.

Man my snow growth sucks. If you are getting good dendrites you are good for 6-7 today. I need to see an improvement here. Fairly low vis but small flakes that don't pile up rapidly.

Do you think we totally cut off later of do we have light and lingering all night til the good stuff comes tomorrow? I know that was the though yesterday and the day before...but haven't paid as much attention to it.

Not usually. I live off of 68 so I go thru Gadnah-hey.

Sometimes I go through the center just for a change of scenery.

Man it is ripping here in Leominster

Most of the kids are gone. Just waiting for a few parent pickups...

I'm currently in Maynard my 45min commute could be disastrous this afternoon.

Moderate snow right now, but it's been alternating between light and moderate all morning. Snow growth has been mostly mediocre, though it's pretty good at the moment.. About 1.5 inches new.

Upton has 4-8 inches today and 8-12 overall with a fair amount of ip and zr still for northern Middlesex. I think those snow totals are too high by a fair margin, but I guess we'll see. Thinking another inch or two from today, and then maybe another couple of inches at the onset of tomorrow's round.

Agreed - absolutely pouring snow in the city, even though it looks like the heavier snows are south of the city on radar.

Storm Cancel. I get 0.7" and then 1.1" of Sleet, Freezing Rain and NOW Rain becuase the NAM has trended SO SO warm. It's Incredible that as Soon as February 1st began, my luck completely ran out. The First model of February, last nights 00z, was the first disaster. January really Did have a Golden Horseshoe up it's weenie hole.

Wow NAM really hitting ice storm potential hard for most of CT tomorrow. Plenty of ZR even up to Mt. Tolland.

yeah if i was anywhere in the southern 2/3rds of CT i'd be mindful of the possibility of not having power. that would suck with a temp. of 24F.

hopefully it ends up more sleet than glaze but it's going to be hard to fight back the warming aloft and nearly impossible to rid the low levels of arctic air.
