Baroclinic Zone
From 24 to 28 in about ten minutes. Back to a pseudo mix. KUUU still reporting snow KWST reporting freezing rain. KEWB, light snow KPVD, light snow KMVY, light snow.
Mr. Windcredible!
If S CT towns get 0.2" of accretion today then I'm definitely more worried about an ice storm down there. I'll tell you what, the 0z GFS from last night seems to have actually depicted things here on the shoreline pretty nicely. Minimal snow/sleet, but a quick transition today to fzra...and it put out 0.5-0.7" of fzra for GON/HVN/BDR before a change to rain tomorrow. Could really be bad news for places from say Trumbull over to Killingworth and up to Middletown/Meriden.
grinch1989
20/18, pouring sleet with some snow mixed in the heavier stuff
Mr. Windcredible!
I wouldn't rely on those sfc temps on the NAM especially on the shoreline. They always seem to bust. I think just inland though is where we could see problems. If things start as ZR in MMK/OXC tomorrow at 9z then big problems. If we have a longer SN to PL to ZR transition then not that bad. Bust high or low?
CoastalWx
What time did it start here....maybe about 6.... Maybe later than that. It took a while for the snow to saturate the atmosphere in Andover.
radiator
22 freezing mist heavier echoes just missing immediate coast to the north thankfully. Looking at radar really nothing to my sw at all, which is a blessing down here right now. I think that's what's hitting me... And it seems to be back to all sleet... weatherMA
3.3" as of 10:10am/1.3 last hour. The rates have been good but nothing rediculous, so there must be some really good ratios. Huge flakes coming down right now, but -sn. -sn lasted less then 5 minutes. Ripping now but back to very small flakes.
Clinch Leatherwood
KUUU still reporting snow KWST reporting freezing rain. KEWB, light snow KPVD, light snow KMVY, light snow. It flips here when we are in the lighter echoes. I should get one more good burst hoping to end at 2.5ish before the change. If we can get the uber heavy snows on this side of the change we may push 3 or 3.5 I'm expecting a coating to 2" wednesday...if we can pull 4-5" total that's a big win for this area in this event. weathafella
F**k tomorrow....we are getting pummled today!!! I wonder if we can book a foot from this. It is unrelenting...and lovely!
mahk_webstah
I don't know about that tail in upstate ny getting to us Dom. I think that is gonna pass north. We've got 3-5 hours of good snow and then I think we pause. You'll probably have 5-6 and I'll have 4-5. That's just looking at radar. That tail doesn't swing down it just moves east. I don't know what the meso models show though. Snowing hard again as the darker echoes move over. They match well up here with the better snow growth. snowwoman
what town are you in? Ansonia near the Woodbridge border area...
CT Rain
hopefully what falls tonight is some light snow grains and not just continuous fzdz. nam 2-m temps are awfully cold right down to the shore until midday tomorrow it looks like. looks like HVN is stuck in the 20s with the nice drainage coming down the valley. I think it could be FZDZ all night and that's a concern.
dryslot
F**k today....we are getting pummled tomorow!!! I wonder if we can book a foot from this. It is unrelenting...and lovely! My thoughts as well but opposite, Oh by the way, -SN here.
HarveyLeonardFan
Just about all sleet here. No more than an inch accumulation of snow and sleet. The map BOX put out late yesteday afternoon down here is going to bust badly. They kinda saved face early this morning by revising totals downward but.... BOX and Pete Bouchard are usually excessively bullish on snow totals especially down here. Out of all the forecasters and enthusiasts on this board Ryan has done the best with this storm and his warnings for sleet have come to fruition. There has not been a minute during this event where it has not been some type of sleet mixture down here.
weatherwiz
The 12z NAM bufkit at HFD is odd for tomorrow with it's precip depictions but I would assume most of that is ZR after a transition from SN to IP...this could get ugly. It does not depict any ZR though with RD 1 up this way though.
SnowMan
F**k tomorrow....we are getting pummled today!!! I wonder if we can book a foot from this. It is unrelenting...and lovely! Ginx snewx
Ryan what about the theory that it doesn't accumulate if it falls at a fast rate? Does that have any merit? Ask Will and the Central Mass SNH guys
40/70 Benchmark
Maybe later than that. It took a while for the snow to saturate the atmosphere in Andover. I'll go 7.

OSUmetstud
That band over us right now is really impressive....2"/hr. most likely but it won't last that long.
weatherwiz
For WTBY (Waterbury, CT) it does show rain tomorrow...although that's if the sfc temps are as warm as depicted, but if not then it's all ZR.
OSUmetstud
I'll go 7. It started here around 645.
H2Otown_WX
Ask Will and the Central Mass SNH guys Yeah I figured it was bogus..this kid tried to say it doesn't build up as fast if it's coming down hard.
snowwoman
Having some on and off down pours of "rain" as it picks up we get a lot of sleet and snow during the peek of the "downpours" sorry if I am not translating this properly! Was not expecting this, this early....trees are starting to glaze up.

Sey-Mour Snow
weird all sleet now with snow fighting back time to time.. freezing rain was just when it lightened up before.. so no big worries here yet.. just moderate sleet and snow
