Baroclinic Zone
Can I just add that I think a lot of schools got caught with their !@#% out today with calling off schools. We did not get notified in Taunton til 7am. Tier I schools start at like 7:15 in the city. Great call morons. They knew this snow was coming for today and they blew it. They are likely hedging themselves for tomorrow, but come on seriously?

Ginx snewx
I still haven't figured out for the life of me how BOX has me in the ~10" storm total. God love em but I just don't see it unless rnd 1 over-performs to about 8". I think rnd 2 is going to be mostly sleet/fzra/ra for me. Really nice snows outside now at work. ~1.5" Because there is more to soundings and vertical velocity for figuring out snow potential than you figure? Really nice snows outside now at work. ~1.5" it's a really tough forecast for your area. 10" total might not be off by much if you consider 4 to 6 today, 2 to 4 tomorrow morning and then 1 or 2 tomorrow night if things break right. it just might not seem like 10" and i wouldn't be entirely shocked if it flips to some light rain for a time up by you before ending tomorrow. i think there are some areas where totals will be very close to the BOX map and some spots that are going to struggle to reach those #s. that's the nature of the beast. powderfreak
Hi. My name is Cold Miser, and I'm addicted to snow. Pouring snow here in Woodstock, CT. 18F Nice! You in Woodstock for this storm? My family's got a summer camp there (grew up spending summers in Woodstock) in North Woodstock on the town pond/lake. I wonder what the snowpack is like there near 800ft less than a mile from the MA border. Where are you in Woodstock?

Nah I love em too but not a good year for them in areas where it's marginal temp wise. At exit 2 it's already changing over. Tomorrow should be interesting b/c depending on how far N. the sleet line progresses the jackpot could be a little further S. than currently modeled.
