Epic winter signal continues to beam, part V

Baroclinic Zone

Recommended Posts

Flakes have gotten smaller and lighter again - visibility way up, but expect it will get heavy again. By my estimate, about 6 hours to go on precip for BOS? That sound right? My estimate is precip is moving at 50 mph and has 300 miles to cover from NE PA. Would seem a good bet to add 4-6" on top of whatever we have now (and I have no idea what we have now).

If we get 10" today I'll be happy and can let the sleet solidify the pack tomorrow.

the radar is pretty misleading here..after that little dry patch came through the snowgrowth became terrible and the visibility is high. heavily rimed flakes ftl.

Same here bark is worse than the bite in this last band.

How much do you have on the ground, could really use the ob

Will measure in 15 mins, but it looks like 3" based on a couple of quick measurements out back.

Id say almost 5. I had 3.3" 50 minutes ago and hes 10 miles or so NW of me. I'll go measure in a few minutes. I expect to be around 4.5".

I could see that...there is a nice band back through Springfield to ORH. I just thought 7.75" seemed a bit high...but perhaps not.

Part of me wonders if this low level cold hangs tougher than modeled in places near the coast and perhaps down in interior sw RI and srn CT.

yeah i just don't see where it's going to go. i know i'll tick above 32F but it's going to be really hard to warm up too much elsewhere.

okx drops WSW and puts up WWA on the coast and ice storm warnings just inland, not good if you enjoy power.

We'll see. It's tough to get meaningful freezing rain accretions right on the coast. If you're between the Merritt and 84 it could get tough.

Dude...you are the one sitting here calling out people's snow totals, I showed you pictures - and then you said nothing. Is this a high school boys club?? Come on...

it seemed a bit high...don't take it personally. Nice pics...you have been in a decent band from Springfield to ORH..I was surprised that anyone had almost 8" already.

according to the nyc thread temps over nyc and western li are now dropping back as coastal front slides se, with this northerly flow I dont see how the ct shore will get above freezing tonight into tom morning, could be a decent ice storm for the southern half of the state.

I actually had 3.7" at 10:40...the 3.3" was at 10:10am. Just measured here and its 4.6" here so that makes .9" last hour.

Mod snow with small flakes at 13F.
