aldie 22
I would bet there is still at least half of what fell still on the ground....pretty cool if you ask me considering how much sun we had yesterday plus low 40's temps. Not really worthy of a thread but since I was bored I thought what the hey

DCWeatherGuy
By noon on the day after the snow (after some mid-morning melting/compacting), I had 5 inches of snow on my official measuring table. I checked again yesterday and I still had just a shade below 4 inches.
H2O
a layer of sleet underneath can be a nice buffer between the warmth of the ground and the snow

ennepe68
My car (never dug out) is still covered with snow. And plowed in, too, which is a bigger deal. Now looking for snow tires and studs for my bike.
rainstorm
high water content snow is very dense. alot of the "melting" of dry snow is really compaction. the dense wet snow is already compacted.
Kmlwx
Most of it is turning into a "white ice" around here. Very slippery like ice but white like snow.

Jebman
Mild air plus rainfall = Jebman in serious grieving. I expect to lose 100 percent of the areal coverage by 7pm Wednesday from spring weather plus rainshowers. There will be just enough rain and mild to melt all of the snowpack - Then back to deep icebox cold with very dry weather - NO storms. Back to freezing our tarkuses off while pining for snow amidst vodka cold - Gotta love the south Mid Atlantic We're used to this - It is our lot in life. By Feb 10 I'll be crying for an early spring
marked8
I'll take it right now. I have to pick up my new garden tractor and I need to snow to be gone so I can get it to where it needs to be in the storage building.
Bob Chill
I like the fact that me and the dog can walk on top of it at night and harldly leave a footprint. Is what is on the ground really considered snow?
clueless
Just West of Leesburg it is still in piles. Okay if it melts on Wed. Then it is okay to snow again.

WinterWxLuvr
So how many schools have 2-hour delays tomorrow due to all the melting snow and runoff that refreezes overnight? I know you're joking, and I wouldn't expect very many, but everyone driving will need to use caution because there will be some occassional nasty places. marked8
I have one patch that has cleared in my front yard. My entire back yard still has 2-3 inches. This is some industrial strength snow if I have ever seen it.
BethesdaWX
Amazing amount of water content in this snow, still about 3" in most places...probably over 1" liquid frozen up in there. The neighborhood is still a warzone of fallen Trees and Branches...I never thought 8" of snow could shred mature trees. Locally, snowmageddon was worse, surprisingly. My area is very sheltered from NE winds, so the FEB 5-6 event never had winds over 15mph, and it just piled on everything. This time we had the NNW winds, and those blew over 40mph most of the last event, so that certainly helped.
