Chicago WX
Ping ping pinging away here. Good returns are arriving soon from the W/SW, though I'm guessing we'll remain all sleet. Sorta getting resigned to the fact that this is LAF's destiny with this storm.

cubfan61201
I see a lot of chatter about the system taking a more westerly track--how does this play out for NW/IL SE/IA--Quad City area?
Hoosier
Do you think we get above freezing in this event Hoosier? I mean, the lows going way west. I dont know what to think. Its nasty right now though. Very doubtful. This shallow cold layer is going to be very tough to eradicate.
Trent
What kind of ratios are being reported with the snow in northern Indiana? Model QPF here in Cleveland ranges 0.5 to 0.7 by daybreak. I'm wonder if it's straight 10:1 or slightly better?

scottdeshong
I65, I70, and I69 are all closed at certain areas around Indianapolis Metro. I live 20 minutes NE of Indy and I can't believe this is actually happening. With the main event still to come I'm getting a little worried about the overall storm impact. Indy and surrounding area is not a good place to be right now.
A-L-E-K
I see a lot of chatter about the system taking a more westerly track--how does this play out for NW/IL SE/IA--Quad City area? it's not going to do anything wild, just thing something along the lines of the deeper guidance, Euro/GFS ARW SREF memebers, maybe RGEM. For you, still lots of snow.

OceanStWx
I see a lot of chatter about the system taking a more westerly track--how does this play out for NW/IL SE/IA--Quad City area? No drastic changes. It's going to snow...a lot...in the Quad Cities. It really is amazing that we're forecast near record storm total snowfall. Torontonian
I'm here in Hamilton, Ontario, were they're getting rocked with LES right now. Forecast is for 4" tonight, 4-6" tomorrow, 6-10" tomorrow night. They'd be absolutely crippled with additional significant accumulations on Wednesday if it wasn't for the model trending more amped and further north with the ul low track. Gonna get Hamilton dryslotted on Wednesday me think, but not before 14-20" You are in Hamilton now? My God, you are in a place that might get most hammered by this system. Those east winds to northeast wind is going to clock that area. Looking forward to next couple of days!
cubfan61201
IWX's 18z WRF FWIW: What is the snow to liquid ratio for the 2.0-2.5 QPF? How about the 1.5-1.75 QPF?
janetjanet998
the 23Z RUC valid at 17z is about 40-60 miles MORE west then the 18z GFS for 18z at the 850 mb level over AR...and the 0c 850 line over Il about 40 miles more NW... I know models don;t show it but I am concerned about sleet issue here if the RUC is correct taken into account models sometime under do the warm nose aloft of course I am being anti- weenie and looking for somethiung to could go wrong with this insane set up becuease the RUC is oftern too much wrapped up with systems(which may cuase the shift west)
