34 is only a few less than the number of reports submitted using the boards system for that giant storm that affected a wide area back in January. Very few people look at our WRF. A pretty tiny percentage of the board has cared to add weather obs to their profiles. I've come to the conclusion that the majority of people here don't have much interest in special features, which is a shame because it kills my desire to develop anything else.

peeps on this forum are lazy and hate America.:hitler:

Here are some fun facts regarding this winter and February for the BTV airport... I did not realize just how snowy this month had been! Also consider that BTV gets some of the lowest snowfall in the state, and most of us are well above these numbers.

Burlington (BTV) has picked up 41.5" of snow so far in February. Record snowfall in February is 42.3" (2008). BTV will likely break the record with this light snow tonight and tomorrow morning, with 1-3" expected... making February 2011 the snowiest Feb on record.

4 of the top 10 snowiest February's have occurred in the past 6 years. That is incredible given BTV's period of record dates back to the late 1800s.

BTV's seasonal snowfall now stands at 96.7" (average to date is 60.5", for a positive departure of 36.2" so far). The airport should pass 100" by Tuesday.

Average snowfall for the entire season at BTV is 80-85" I believe (don't know the exact number), and if we have a big March, we would certainly be in top 10 snowiest winters territory. We are on pace to get into that top 10.

We may not have as large of departures as SNE, but even if winter were to end today, this would be a snowier than average winter. Given that March usually brings some good snows, this will likely be a much above average snowfall winter.

almost all of interior sne averages around a foot or so for march...if this march delivers just average snowfall to interior sne it should put many in the eighty to one hundred inch range with no problem

whether or not this march is historic or epic well who knows but interior sne has been well below average for several marches in a row now so I figure we are due for at least a mediocre one.

scoring eighty or more inches of snow in the ct river valley (hfd/spfd) is indeed a very snowy winter. remember bdl has to get ten more inches than they report bc they over reported by at least that much but that still puts them legit well into the 70s with all of march and april to go.

for most of interior sne..including the valley there has not been a good april snow event...four or more inches since april 1 97... the 2003 event missed being a big hit by being shunted to the south at the last minute if anyone remembers...

we are due for a decent april thump as well the way i see it..

ps

the april 2003 was shunted south by an anomolously late season arctic hp for those who do not remember and the truly epic winter has been south of hartford down into the nyc metro area, comparatively speaking

Due to our snowfall numbers for the previous 24 hour period getting recorded at 6am each morning, we are done with snowfall in February, so here are our numbers off the two Snow Study Area snow boards:

3,000ft

February Total: 72"

Seasonal Total: 246"

1,500ft

February Total: 50"

Seasonal Total: 142"

So 1,500ft elevations in this area are nearing 150" on the season, with near 250" in the higher elevations.
