johnc
persistent ENE wind at ~5mph here. Still 26.5°/25, temp seems to have plateaued over the last 45 mins. The surface air is pretty saturated (100% here) so I presume any temp falls will have to come from air displacement (i.e., from the north). GD0815
yeah, the thing is there is a big difference between freezing rain at 31 degrees and at 24 degrees. i know i am not the first one to mention this, but if the precip is heavy enough, you get a fair amount of runoff, especially when you are sitting close to freezing. how for the places where it is 25 or less.... The only problem that really is the fact some ever-greens have snow on them, so that wll absorb some of the freezing ran at first and slightly dislodge the snow a bit towards the tips and might help act as a damn to have the ice accrue more onto the needles and bark and sticks and branches so it might be a bigger issue then some expect even with it coming down heavy enough, but it might spare the roadways, but the trees are the problems for sure.
