Agreed...minus of course the horrible economic conditions of Caribou ME because there is no snow. Other than that I appreciate his posts...

My friends and neighbors there are breaking. I am unable to help.

They need support. Even pointless moral support like my visceral post about the cosmic injustice of snow distribution this year.

I'll go with official COOP site.....if anything, Reading would have seen slightly more than us since that was a cold storm.

You still use the old State Utah COOP. Some of those records were not put in correctly though. I remember before they had that site, a different one right here for New England and they took that down. I think because nobody wanted to pay for it. But hey, Who knows. When I did my research long ago. I actually went to as many DWP's and saw the records of storms in pen and pencil recorded, long before the internet came. Those DPW Departments had the original recordings from the March 1956 Storm all the way to the present day journals that are kept.:guitar:

I have a copy of the written COOP form comprised of every season since 1956 and it's the same data that is on that site.

It's all about the mid levels...low levels are a non factor....at least N of Boston....proximity to the ocean may hurt in se MA.

With the arctic high in place with a cold source region in Maine, it's probably relegated to parts of cstl se mass, esp the Cape. If temps aloft (say 950 mb) were cold enough, this would be a classic snow event for them.

As to what Ryan posted earlier about the NAM bufkit at BDL seeing the strength of the MLJ crashing into us I am real worried about some warm air working into the mid levels here...while things may align to keep the cold locked in at the sfc and low-levels the same may not be said for parts of the mid levels. This is probably more of a concern for CT then areas up north but the difference in more epic snows for us in CT and just moderate snows lies within what we do with the mid levels here.

That's excellent! You'll notice how some of the data from the books vs the site on the internet are not always put in correctly. That's why there's some discrepency in certain records. Keep your eyes sharp.
