Ginx snewx
Right so you have to subtract whatever it says you have at the start... still neat to see. Those colors don't usually show up I think it dumps 18" around me... hard for me to see the gradient on my crap azz monitor Funny thing is its 0 hour are way way off
SC48
Generally, the NAM clown map folks, who can read it, indicates snow totals for the week ranging for 20 -30" from west to east to the Boston area with the exception of the outer Cape and Islands where a mix keeps totals around 5-10". HoarfrostHubb
Funny thing is its 0 hour are way way off Yeah... puts me at about 8" when there is closer to 18" here. DomNH
Once again, the simple fact that we are discussing whether 20'' amounts are feasible or not is proof that we are in for a crushing.

weatherwiz
I still am worried about the potential for some decent icing out of this...just not exactly sure as to where...perhaps towards southern CT? There is just so much going on between 700mb and to just above the sfc it's going to be extremely difficult for models to pinpoint all this so precise this far out. ORH_wxman
The end of this event looks like the Saturday morning after the 12/19/08 event...where the inverted trough hangs back with decent mid-level support for like 6-12 hours...kind of a light snow that takes forever to turn off and might tack on some very cold thickness fluff. CoastalWx
Snow growth isn't as good up here on the 00z NAM as I hoped. The max dendritic zone is still pretty much above the best omega. It gets alright when that heavy blob (I love when we all get scientific) moves through, but the -12C to -18C layer isn't very deep. We'll see, but these 20"+ totals this far out are a little crazy. CON MHT BED ORH Yeah it's not classic, but at least you have some pretty good omega between -10C and -20C. That's not too bad. Probably a nice mix of plates, dendrites and columns. Another issue is this could be a wet snow for some folks, especially the further south you go, a heavy ,wet snow would not be something we want either. weatherwiz
Interior SW CT maybe? This is exactly what I'm thinking...a line extending from PA to near NYC into SW CT. This would be ontop of whatever accumulating snows they get from round 1 as well...could be real ugly in those parts.
40/70 Benchmark
It was north on prior runs. If you want the good banding and frontogenesis, you want to see that further south. I know it was, but I've always expected it to be where it is now.

I don't understand the theme of TV guys going balls to the wall with amounts 2-3 days out.

40/70 Benchmark
Like I told Will this afternoon, the setup Wed reminds me of 19-20 Dec 2008. I mean, not every intimate detail is a match but it's strikingly similar...just more juiced up. I got a total of 21" out of those two...I'll take it. lol

Clinch Leatherwood
GFS seems to be coming towards the NAM...slower moving s/w out of the deep SW for sure this run...more energy focused on the SW end of the complex too.
