My neighborhood has all underground electric lines. But I still worry about the amount of freezing rain we could get. If anything close to the NAM verifies, I plan on working from home Wednesday..hell it is my birthday anyway. I am just curious about Tuesday. I hope the ice holds off until after the evening commute.

From NWS Bing--who seem to not want to issue watches at this time...even though Mt Holly and State College already have...

FURTHER SOUTH IN THE

WYOMING VALLEY SNOWFALL MAY BE LIMITED TO ONLY A COUPLE OF INCHES

FOLLOWED BY POTENTIALLY SIGNIFICANT ICING. BY LATE WEDNESDAY

AFTERNOON/EARLY EVENING AS COASTAL DEEPENS STRONG CAA WILL RAPIDLY

CHANGE BACK ALL PRECIP TYPES TO SNOW.

If I lived anywhere north of the PA Turnpike East/West extension and south of I-84 i would seriously consider stocking up on batteries and flashlights--especially berks/lehigh/northampton/carbon/schuylkill county areas....

I am hoping we up here are far enough north to escape the worst of the icing and have a more snowy solution...

I talked to folks who were without power for over a week in Carbon County from a few years ago and if you could imagine living in hell, a frozen hell, that's what they described...

It was like that and I would not wish it upon anyone! My wife and I learned alot from that 6 days without power. Plenty of gas for the chainsaw, bottled water, 2 5 gallon buckets to melt snow for the toilet, batteries, big cooler to put outside for frozen food and in our case make sure we have 200 gallon propane tank is topped off for gas fireplaces. I fear this has similar potential. Hopefully the models will trend a little colder to keep more snow in the forecast.

Here is the latest from Mt. Holly. Please note the warnings come out this afternoon. Personally , I would issue them now to get more of the public prepared for what could be a catastrophic event. Why they are waiting? I do not know. Its funny, if it was a 12 inch snow, they would have issued them already. Sorry Mike, but thats how I feel.

I don't know about anyone else, but I am currently 8 degrees warmer than the forecast high for today. It was supposed to be in the low 20's and I sit at 30.2 at the moment after a high of 30.7 earlier.

Might be time to check the batteries on that remote sensor, ABE is only 25.:guitar:

They were changed 2 weeks ago, and the local guy in town who has his station on Wunderground was at 33 for a bit. Also, the old standby mercury thermometer in the backyard was at 32, so I don't know.
