superjames1992
It must be the groundhogs analysis. Apparently. It was drizzling here this morning, so I guess the groundhog didn't see his shadow and winter is over! Throw away all the models and the science. The groundhog says... Cheeznado
The Cheez meme: Just telling it like I see it- this is funny though. To prove I am not a total DD I do not agree with Mr, Sunshine Brick that "winter is over, give up, all hope is lost blah blah blah"- there is plenty of time to get another snow and/or ice event- I am just skeptical of individual runs when the consistency factor is as low as it is now. BullCityWx
A review of analysis continues to show the SE Pig Heat Ridge ruling for the remainder of winter in the SE with a likely flip back to a pattern into mid March that will bring us a relatively cold late March and April. Sometimes I'd really like to know where you come up with these wild assertions.
GaWx
The 12Z doc has a sense of humor. It has made a request: It is saying "I'll trade you a historic coastal snow THU (2/10) for a southern snowstorm today (TX/LA+) (today being WED 2/9) and extending into 2/10. This is a major snow for many. Doc says it is all good because it is still in the general vicinity of V-Day.

Jon
Since I'm busy w/ classes this week I've just been peeking at the gfs for chances and the 9th-12th has been showing at least a chance of frozen precip in that time frame at least for NC. So good to hear the ecmwf showing a wild solution in the future, I'll take it. DT mentioned RDU so he has my attention.

GaWx
I have to wonder whether or not this is going to be one of those winters which doesn't end early, meaning a wrong Ge. Lee and a desire to make Groundhog stew out of the poor little guy. I hope not as I feel for the little fella. Seasonal wx predictions are very tough to get right and Gen. GaWx
My cafeteria manager's husband owns the Yellow River Game Ranch! Ruh Roh. Please tell me that the cafeteria mgr. isn't thinking about fixing groundhog stew for supper anytime soon. Tell her that possum stew tastes much better. She can ask Granny from Bev. Hillbillies if she doesn't believe you. If groundhog were so delicious, there would be a groundhog queen instead of a possum gueen in Beverly Hills. burgertime
Just for laughs this was the 1/26 run of the 12z GFS at 336 hours which would be Feb. 9th...sorry it's so crappy but I saved it from an SV map and didn't know their feelings on old runs so I figured I would rather be safe then sorry.. contrast with 162 hours same time frame on todays run... Pretty amazing if it verifies like this.

dsaur
Here are a couple of pictures that I was talking about from the 1958 storm. Someone knew how to make a snowman. Great pics! That is about how old I was from the look of the older kid I have always felt Feb. gave me the best chances, and if ever there would be a major two fer a few days apart it would be in Feb. This could be the year...I feel it I feel bad for the Brickster not going to get anything, while I'm so filled with hope for extra helpings.
