We had one start smoking in a lamp. I've also had several burn out in less than a year. I'm going to stock up on the old fashioned bulbs before the new law goes into effect that bans stores from selling them. I also haven't noticed one penny of a difference in my electric bill.

I have to say I def. noticed the power bill come down some from what I was expecting. I like a lot of light and use the highest lumens I can find, which is 1570 lumens (26 W. per bulb). Anything less is just not enough light. I understand the new LED's are probably going to take over , they last even longer and are pretty cheap. I have a flashlight (cheapo) with the LED's and I prefer it over the $25.00 huge maglite.

I hate hate HATE those energy saver bulbs. I've got to stockpile the old incandescents if they try to ban selling them.

My dad has warned me to go ahead and buy all I can of the incandescents. Guess they'll be on the black market soon.

Voted burger.

LOL. Slightly confused.

Tonightnt_chancesnow.gifMostly cloudy with a chance of snow. Rain likely with isolated thunderstorms this evening...then a chance of rain after midnight. Lows in the lower 30s. West winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation 70 percent.

Does this mean it might snain?

Well the NAM officially sucked for this area so just contemplating the possible -NAO that the 18z GooFuS was alluding to later this month. Isn't this a typical trend during Nina years for the NAO to tank late into the winter and into early spring? We have had some nasty, late freezes due to this in the past including snow showers on Good Friday several years ago.
