Edge Weather
Already dropped a degree out here. The temperature is raising incredibly fast here. Around 36F here, it was like 34F 20 minutes ago. How fast will temps drop behind the warm front?
Quincy
literally up 4 degrees in the past 15 minutes or so, 39.2 and RR
A-L-E-X
Last hour JFK was the warmest of the metro area sites at 41 and LGA was the coldest at 36; this hour LGA is the warmest at 43 and JFK is the coldest at 39 Total role reversal

nzucker
Temp starting to drop here, down to 39.1F, windy outside. Had a bit of snow and sleet this morning, but it wasn't anything measurable before the switch to rain occurred. All in all, a very nasty day in the NYC metro area, raw and wet. A-L-E-X
It's interesting how that area of highest temps keeps shifting east-- that blip of 50-51 which was in the Stony Brook - Setauket area is now over between Wading River and Southampton. Quincy
temp rise is slowing, but already up to 41.9F. caught a little off guard, not gonna line. we were hovering in the 34-35F range for quite a while today

EasternLI
Wind picking up here to, but its still from the south which is not cool. I tried to give the SNE thread a heads up about those storms before, but I think they had too much to drink

ArtRosen
Snow pack taking a beating. It's gone from 46 to 43 in the past hour and winds are ripping out there. I hope we don't drop below freezing - I have a bet going that I'll see my lawn again before Valentines Day. With two feet of snowpack, I'm wondering if it was a stupid bet... EasternLI
Temps going down now.......Actually looking at it, its one of the odd situations where colder air is filtering in from the south since there is a south wind and temps on the south shore of LI are colder then the north shore. Yup, I was remarking about this earlier also, when it was 51 at Stony Brook and 39 at JFK lol. But now everyone is in the mid 40s or lower. jconsor
Central and Eastern LI got into the true warm sector. However, the snow pack took less of a beating the further west you go. LGA and EWR only lost 1" of snow pack between 7AM Sat and 1AM Sun, while ISP lost 3". Snow pack taking a beating. It's gone from 46 to 43 in the past hour and winds are ripping out there.
