JoMo
Storm a bit weaker this run. Waits a bit later to get its act together, throwing less precip back our way. Reduction in overall QPF over W MO this run. Yeah it seems like the deformation band isn't as intense and it's farther north.
MoWeatherguy
Yeah it seems like the deformation band isn't as intense and it's farther north. Well it is the NAM. I remember the "F" I gave it on the last storm.

JoMo
Tulsa Updated AFD: 00Z NAM PRODUCES SOME RATHER IMPRESSIVE QPF ALONG BAROCLINIC ZONE SETTING UP OVER EASTERN OKLAHOMA EARLY TUESDAY MORNING. THERMAL PROFILES SUGGEST HEAVY SNOW BAND COULD BE SMACK DAB OVER THE TULSA METRO AREA JUST IN TIME FOR TUESDAY MORNING COMMUTE...WITH HEAVY SLEET JUST TO THE EAST AND SOUTH. THE HEAVIEST SNOW BAND HAS SHIFTED A LITTLE TO THE SOUTHEAST IN THIS RUN...BUT DATA STILL SUPPORTS WINTER STORM WARNING QUITE NICELY. Tulsa gets 1.29" of precip in 6 hours. All snow. Joplin gets 1.10" of precip in 6 hours, probably a bit of sleet followed by snow.
Wx 24/7
Springfield OCMs seem clueless this evening. Glad Doug and the Springfield NWS seem to be able to adequately read computer models.

Ozarkwx
Verbatim we have about a 2" hit. Go 75 mi to the NW and 18". That is a tight gradient. Still trying to figure the ice risk here. Any guesses? I think this is the correct 00z NAM Kuchera:
MoWeatherguy
Insane gradient. All temp driven I would assume.
JoMo
okie is gonna have a heart attack if he looks at Tulsa's Cobb output...... 31" of snow, 1/4" of sleet. Around 19" for Joplin with 0.11" sleet Monett sees 7.5" but also over 1/2 sleet, 1/4 freezing rain. OKC is around 10" with 0.18" sleet. Springfield only sees about 4" snow, but 1.5" sleet and 1/4 freezing rain. Fayetteville sees around 1" of snow...... 3/4 inch of sleet... 1/4 inch freezing rain. JoMo
00z GFS really has the surface and 850 cold air diving south faster at hour 27 in KS and OK when compared to the 12z run. Looks like a shift south on the GFS when compared to the 12z run through 36. OH WOW........ 994 IN SE MO!!!

JoMo
Yep same thing... except mine is available instantly (even the "faster" NCEP site has a lag of a little under 1 minute). Can you run a regional view of the 4 state area with county boundaries (KS/MO/OK/AR) on the snow maps? That would really be awesome. Or just a more zoomed in view?
