MDstorm
EURO caves... maybe an inch of snow.... .10 of ice and then rain The Euro hasn't really looked good for the last 2 days for early next week. I'm more interested in next weekend. Hoping for a cold storm and would like to see the Euro get on board. Mdstorm

North Balti Zen
Tony Pann on WBAL this morning going with light snow over to freezing rain/sleet overnight Monday into Tuesday morning. I just don't see it. Again.
aldie 22
FWIW the 06z GFS came in a little colder for a bit longer back here anyway. My guess is that it does that until game time and the kids get a day off on Tuesday. Anyone else notice that the snow isn't melting very much...I would bet that I have at least half if not more left from the storm last week...might be some slight flooding issues if the rain is substantial enough...mostly due to clogged drains. Herb@MAWS
Tony Pann on WBAL this morning going with light snow over to freezing rain/sleet overnight Monday into Tuesday morning. I just don't see it. Again. It should start as frozen precip, if timing of precip onset stays steady. Colder temps (and drier air) on Monday with drainage down from E-ern Canada/NE US should set the stage for a little snow/sleet ... but the question is how long before the low-level cold gets scoured out. Tuesday morning could see potential commuting issues if a quicker changeover to sleet/ZR after precip begins.
North Balti Zen
Yeah, my bad for being a bit hasty Leesburg, just went and looked at the 6z GFS, and it has us in snow/ice through hour 66 before a slug of rain comes in. Maybe 6-12 hours or light frozen precipitation on that run if I have it read right.

North Balti Zen
That's hour 66, with some period of light frozen precip ahead of that panel per the 6z GFS.
aldie 22
A 1035 high right there....I would think at least the lower levels would be colder than what the gfs is showing and it already is showing 32 in a lot of spots....ice storm might be making a comeback on this stupid thing. North Balti Zen
Yeah, harder for me to discount an ice storm set-up on this run, or at least a longer period of frozen precip before the rain gets here. Plus, plenty of cold air dug in at this point, down to 19 at BWI this morning. Its probably going to take awhile to root the cold out. Will depend when precip gets here I guess. mitchnick
there's an arctic front to our NW depicted on this map it'll probably wash out for the most part before it gets here, but it will still manage to bring in plenty of cold air to set the stage http://weather.unisy...ace/sfc_map.gif me no likey ice, especially since its definitely gonna' warm up to >50 here on Wednesday per all the models and can only cause power outages, death and destruction on Tuesday

aldie 22
NAM definitely more South with the initial overrunning than previous runs...GFS probably closer to being right at this point than the NAM since it is still shifting a bit.

Yeah, a little moisture starved on the front end when the temps are low enough. Any heavier on the qpf and it might be a decent little event before the rain set in.
