Fozz
I'm starting to like the solutions for this storm more and more... the models are trending the southern energy to kick out later and later, much like how our last storm trended in the mid-range. I wouldn't be surprised if we had to bump this storm into Monday, since the setup/trend is starting to look awfully familiar. Well, as of now the storm ends around Saturday evening so that would take a huge delay.
North Balti Zen
No. It's not the wrong thread for that observation. The cold air is in place for the weekend threat. The energy in the southwest would be the weekend threat. Troll somewhere else.
Midlo Snow Maker
storm is slower this run energy is held back and also stronger
North Balti Zen
Why was my previous observation about the 90 hour map and the set-up for this threat deleted? Seriously, what the hell?
stormtracker
Ellinwood was exactly right. Things look to be delayed even more with the energy vs 6z

Midlo Snow Maker
not much cold air to work with
Huffwx
not much cold air to work with Hence, delayed is bad-- we get that push of cold air behind the MW Bllizzard and it moderates.
North Balti Zen
What the hell are you talking about? It's still there It moved back when some other stuff got deleted. Fozz had complained about it, and I thought it was deleted in response and was trying to figure out why. Never mind. My bad.

North Balti Zen
Still learning, obviously, but that L in the great lakes at 168 is keeping any shot at cold air from us on this run.

WVclimo
I dunno... a storm taking that track in early February might pull it off. Not without a R/S line somewhere in the area, but that's a nice setup.
