I don't mind getting less snow, BUT i can do without the RAIN!

Just back from GTG and heading out to dinner..

Verbatim GFS 18Z gave us snow to sleet to short duration RAIN to sleet back to snow. Doubt that's the solution verbatim but that's what it gives. With the 12Z ECMWF and its ensembles coming in trending cooler, I like the this one is going. Strong low level cold and a mid level war.

Ginx was right. This winter is about survival of the fittest. Those who are weak will perish. See ya in the afterlife.

I think we are seeing about the northernmost solutions that we will see. The position of the PV in northern Quebec probably won't allow it to cut any further than an 18Z GFS type scenario. Hopefully the 18Z GFS is a bit too extreme.

From WBZTV.com - Boston station -

What I see is a lot of cold in place, a moisture laden low coming out of the Gulf which will likely track south of New England. This has the ingredients for another substantial snowfall across many areas of New England. Today, it looks like along and North of the Mass Pike will have the best chance for a foot or more of snow. I would not be surprised with some areas seeing 15-18″. Of course a slight shift to the south, will bring it all down with less mixing and more snow like we saw this week. So still plenty of time to adjust, analyze and discuss all the possibilities between now and then.
