mattlacroix4
I want to freeze the 18Z GFS for the Tuesday-Thursday events, absolutely beautiful, easily 12-24 by the end.
CT Rain
The difference I see on this run, is that the PV is further south on the 18z run. It's noticeable around hr 60. In turn, the Plains s/w is further south. And, it snows into Thursday morning..lol. You sort of have that 700mb/850mb low running into a brick wall with enhanced confluence and they sort of fall apart and become more diffuse helping keep the warm at bay. I'd imagine that would also reduce your insentropic lift with less warm advection.
OKpowdah
I think I get more this run than 12z. I'm into better ratios and deformation with similar QPF. The 850 temps look similarly cold to the 12z EC ens. I'm a little on the edge in Plymouth. Bit more of a gradient.

weatherMA
Maybe 2-3 more snow days for CT schools this week? 3 snow days have been locked for this week.

I mean 00z could come back north from 18z.

dendrite
I think we win either way . Far NNE climbing the railings of the Golden Gate bridge. I won't laugh at that though because then 00z will come in giving NYC all snow.

H2Otown_WX
3 snow days have been locked for this week. This is getting absolutely absurd. I was in hs from 2005-2009 we probably had about the same number of snow days that whole time that the kids have had this year alone.

Could happen. I wouldn't much like getting 6" while Kev rips another 25". lol But it could happen.

I won't laugh at that though because then 00z will come in giving NYC all snow. Not worried yet.... still grabbing around .75" QPF on the GFS. Plus, the mountain will always get more QPF locally than forecast if it all works according to planned. I could care less for my backyard but with Presidents Week holiday coming up (and everyone from SNE coming up here), we could use an inch of liquid weight to the snowpack to make it more durable for the crowds. weatherwiz
Either way were screwed lol...we either get a good 1-2' of snow region wide or we see a solid 4-8'' of snow (more for northern sections) with a potentially significant icing event. I wonder if the state of CT shuts down at all during this event if it occurs to it's potential.
MaineJayhawk
Lmao i might see 2 feet If you take off your shoes you always will. Thank you, thank you ... I'll be here all week. Don't forget to tip your waitress. :snowman:

You guys are having a truly historic winter, probably equal to mine last year relative to departure from climo/averages. We've had some amazing storms on the EC over the past few years.
