I called home depot looking for a roof rake (knowing the answer already), but before I could ask the question the guy picked up the phone and said "no shovels, rock salt, snow blowers, or roof rakes. how can I help you?" laugh.gif

Thats a good one, I bet he gets a lot of hang ups after that...lol

i'd like to have 8 inch front end dump....then .75 ice. no sleet please.

yikes.png 0.75" ice is a pretty big disaster... heavy heavy power outages... I remember a few years back that big time ice storm crushed worcester and fitchburg knocking out power for almost a week. One of my co-workers at the time had to drive all the way to rhode island to get a generator to turn the heat back on. I wouldn't wish that kind of storm for anyone. What were the accretion amounts in that storm?

I think he wants that.

My Euro QPF map finally loaded...damn. All models pretty much printing out over a foot for those that stay all snow. Hope it holds.

What's the QPF around here? I don't have access. Is Tues still looking like a 2-4/3-6 deal? Then a foot Weds? Or overall a foot plus?

Maybe 2 snow days this week? wbz blog basically warns schools of possiblity..and basically appologizes lol.

This will be a problem for many area schools. Do they cancel school for two days

in a row? Poor parents. What to do? The snow will fill in fast Tuesday…become

heavier by midday, so by the afternoon commute home..there will be several

inches of snow on the ground. Do you send the buses and kids out in it? Why risk

it? This will be a game time call obviously. Tuesday’s morning commute will be

dry, but evening commute will be a mess with snow covered road and the potential

for 3-5″ of snow on the ground by 7 PM. This initial wave will pull away Tuesday

night and may even mix with sleet and light rain as the precipitation begins to

lighten and taper off.

Haha yeah I read Joe Joyce's blog... great write-up. I think that at least 1 day (Wed) is a lock... Tuesday is more questionable, where start time is post-AM commute. It'll be interesting!

Cool. Thanks. The only thing that we have really going against us is the fact that this is 3 days out.

Well, more like 2 if this starts Tuesday/Tuesday night. Unless the models trend a lot warmer, which doesn't seem likely, we should be good. QPF shouldn't be an issue.

Why is everyone flipping out about a big meltdown? I just looked at the Euro and at worst it's normal temps for 2-3 days then another cold shot day 10..

Normal highs are still in the mid-upper 30's..why the uproar?

I saw one day get 850s around -4C up here. If we mix that down with sun it could be pretty warm, but we'll see.

Yeah, that's true.. I think I have to start looking at this thing as one entity as opposed to the overrunning Tues being completely separate. I like how the QPF is nicely distributed too -- no worries of a cut-off this time!
