Arnold214
1048 --> 1056 in 6 hrs... bombing high?! (jk) Seriously though what typically causes a HP to strengthen Upper level confluence is a good way to do it.
CoastalWx
He's got a 20 HP blower or something, I'd just use that. My Redmax would take care of it. Horrible, that you have a countdown until Spring. Might as well say, "38 more days until wrist slitting drizzle."

moneypitmike
Another thing to keep in mind wrt possible accumulations. Even in areas where there's no tainting, the duration will allow for more compaction during the course of the event than typical. Of course, that doesn't lessen the amount coming down, but won't be as notable as if it were to drop in 12 hours.
CoastalWx
NAM may come in a little warmer aloft.

ski MRG
how much do you have on the ground there? like 18 to 24"? Hey Phil, I did a detailed analysis of the yard yesterday. My depths ranged from 41" on the north side of the house where the sun never hits to 31" where there is full sun. I would say average depth is probably 34-35" though it is hard to truly determine. Either way, a lot of snow. Snowing currently and much more on the way. Life is good. This map is pretty good for a sketch of the depths here though perhaps a little light especially across the crest where 40+" is common.

free_man
Let's hope for the largest SNE hit possible. I'm happy with a 2-3' snowpack, but let's face it, 6' in BOS to ORH is what we all want....shut 'em down, shut 'em down, shut 'em down.

powderfreak
12 NAM is like a Lakes Cutter, lol. Snowstorm for Chicago. Thank god its so cold over New England to begin with. With the energy now over North America, models should be able to get a pretty good handle on this.
