ski MRG
18/14,-sn, We've had at least a trace or better of snow here for days and days. This truly does have the potential to be an Epic Winter. With storms stacking up after this one and wall to wall cold who could ask for more. Big Winter, Big Big Winter incoming.
Mr Torchey
Lets hope this trends much colder. SLeet, Freezing rain and rain on top of a 20-30 inch snowpack across Ct would be pretty bad. There are already plenty of people getting water damage in there homes due to the frozen gutters..............basements are next, serious ****e. moneypitmike
Clear at least half of that. A deck is expensive to replace... Yeah, but if it collapses, he can use the scrap wood to keep the fire going when the ice storm knocks out his power.
mahk_webstah
Drinking the good Rev's Kool-Aid? lol I'm guessing 30" is a stretch but this is a year where storms just overperform, and with it being a marathon event ... who knows? did you see the qpf out by Sam? 30 not outta the question. and yes, I do believe Kevin spiked my drink last night
Ginx snewx
keV how high is your deck off the ground? , you could probably get away with just doing in between structural supports. Looks very sturdy but with all the new incoming, borrow the neighbors snowblower, just hope the kids didn't leave Raggedy Ann out there.
Damage In Tolland
SREF's ping to the Pike or perhaps near Rt 2, but they did trend a little colder. AWT..trend isn't done yet..think snow folks
DomNH
did you see the qpf out by Sam? 30 not outta the question. and yes, I do believe Kevin spiked my drink last night It's very early, but this looks like a classic case of me getting a lower-ratio 8-9'' while you, Sam, and BIrving get around a foot. Of course after 2-4'' from round 1. As long as we don't ping.

moneypitmike
did you see the qpf out by Sam? 30 not outta the question. and yes, I do believe Kevin spiked my drink last night Yeah, the qpf is uplifting (though I'm always told to ignore the qpf). ALY has raised the high density factor of snow, so that should limit accums somewhat even where there's minimal tainting. At least I would imagine. powderfreak
Heavy heavy deck I am surprised that is still standing. Its funny, our winter has just been average up here so far and I noticed everyone has cleared roof-tops, shoveled decks, chopped ice, etc. Yesterday the lodge up the road had a huge snow removal program going on with bucket loaders, dump trucks, etc... and we don't even have that much snow (15-16" on the ground). Again, its not the actual snow depth that matters for you guys in SNE... its the water weight. You guys are all looking to get another 1-2" of QPF, so think about what that might do to some structures, especially older houses/decks, etc. I'd start buying Home Depot stock because everyone in SNE is going to be buying all sorts of construction supplies after this winter. Its been something like two weeks straight with at least a trace up here. Starting to get annoying actually, haha. 0.3" then 0.7" then 0.2" etc. I'd rather just get it all at once and then have no snow for the rest of the week... but at least it keeps winter in the air. Snowing lightly right now as it has been all month.
