Indystorm
Gone for two days on business and come back to read this thread like an exciting thriller. Thanks for all the analysis and congrats Baro on new position. Thinking Blizzard of 78 up here in Michiana even if this does not bomb to the degree that one did over Cleveland. Looks like it may be historic anyway.

Powerball
The 00z NAM is snOMG. 6-8" of front thumping snow followed by likely at least another foot.
Organizing Low
This baroclinic zone is just absurd. i think its fair to say this storm is The Baroclinic Instability Storm lol
Stebo
Man this just keeps getting better, if you look at the temps over Lower Michigan as it approaches, they fall at all key levels, Surface 925 850 and 700mb.

Thundersnow12
Remember, we have a faster updating website: http://mag.ncep.noaa...=MODEL+GUIDANCE I am way too superstitious...you think I am going to switch what site I use? haha I dont think so I will take the 5 min delay if I have to lol
Stebo
The Baroclinic Leaf with this storm is going to be something to see.
csnavywx
Wow. Everything shifted N and the gradient in the cold air is stronger even with a weaker surface low. 994 vs 990 compared to the 18Z--but the intensity is unreal. That is blizzard on the NAM for parts of N IL and northern Indy. Almost matches the GFS's precip shield, just a little less expansive. But you're right, that's a full blown blizzard on the north/northwest side. This sucker wraps up in a big hurry and displays a beautiful deformation band. Tony
Just guessing but probably close to 2" of qpf on that run up to 84 hrs for Northern IL.
BeastFromTheEast
MUCH more precip to come after that as well
wisconsinwx
Ugh, it's gonna suck seeing you guys getting hammered, while I get flurries. But you guys deserve it. You may not see the big snows, but I doubt you'll get just flurries. If Milwaukee gets screwed with this one though, we'll have been screwed on all sides in the last couple of years. OceanStWx
Also the TROWAL with this thing, simply amazing. Consistent signal among the models for the last couple of days. Not to mention a 1051 mb high and a 993 mb low, using the office wind gust rule of thumb - 50 mph gusts possible in that deformation band.
STL
Anyone see how DVN looks for the 00z NAM. I can't look at models right now. Thanks

Powerball
michsnowfreak is gonna love this run when he sees it. 00z NAM leaves a widespread 2+ foot snowpack across Southern Michigan and Northern Indiana. And it's still snowing after 84hr.
dilly84
Nam could potentially have some nice backend snows for OH as a consolation prize.

csnavywx
It throws back 1"+ QPF into 850s of -10 to -15C. Ratios are going to be off the charts in some places.
wisconsinwx
Anyone see how DVN looks for the 00z NAM. I can't look at models right now. Thanks You're in the 0.5 to 0.75 QPF range, which I think includes the entire storm from Monday until Wednesday. Similar to Milwaukee.
