Thundersnow12
ok if that isn't persuasion enough... start a new thread and let Hoosier start it. not a big deal just make a new one man.
Powerball
Wow, you guys are really superstitious. It just so happens that I created the thread when the GGEM had a blip. I can't really control that. You also must remember the EURO had a blip just like it the other day and thus far it has come back to the consensus. Please relax everyone, our region will get our storm. Hoosier's more than welcome to create another thread if that's what everyone wants, but I don't want to delete the little discussion that has taken place in this thread either. I apologize for wanting to track and talk about what might happen.
cyclone77
Certainly makes anticipation for the Euro that much greater lol.

I'm 99.9% superstitions like these are invalid, but why take the risk. If the weather gods exist no point in pissing them off any further.
A-L-E-K
Certainly makes anticipation for the Euro that much greater lol. It's more likely to take it over Chicago than be that south, just my 2 cents. If i'm wrong, the booth is ready.

cyclone77
The GEM would still deliver a very nice hit, just a bit further southeast than the GFS IMO.
OHweather
I like powerball for starting this thread, I'm worried big time about mixing with a strong phase and no block and look what happens, the GGEM dives south.

If (and it's a monumental IF) this storm potential ends up fizzling, I'm going to be off tracking for at least a little while.

The southern vort now goes threw Mexico. It takes a ultra powerful nam to bring it to Paducah. The trend is go take a slp out of s Texas.
KokomoWX
Kokomo, if you didn't see my reply in the previous thread, I'm leaning more on the NAM/Euro thermal profiles right now. I'm not convinced the GFS is done trending although I'd obviously love for it to verify. I did. Tough to bet against the King and a high res model which agrees with the King. Moneyman
All I gotta is lol at the gem. It's been a sucky model this winter, and I also support the GEM.
Stevo6899
Is the GGEM not phasing? Is the high suppressing it? I guess we are due for a model run like this. It has been pretty awful forecasting past 3 days but still concerning.
Powerball
One last thing. If it's any consolation, this is the only storm this season I've really been very optimistic about. For me (debbie downer) to be this excited about a storm should mean something.
Organizing Low
its deifntely too early to get confident. especially up here. we need everything to break right to end this 2 year drought. the potential is obviously there.

Chicago Storm
I gotta be honest. I don't even see the southern s/w on the GEM's H5 plots anymore. At least at 84. Looks like from 48-60hrs it sort of rips it to pieces.

A-L-E-K
I'd highly favor the NAM with it's resolution and ability to pick up on storm development in the plains over the GGEM right now. And it's really hard to totally discount the slow but steady trend of the GFS towards a more NAM like solution.
