jbcmh81
30 mph winds with 38gusts in indy I think this is the only reason we haven't seen more damage to trees and power. It's been really calm throughout this storm. Once we start seeing the winds, it's going to get a whole lot worse.
buckeye
My gosh I can't imagine. Won't have to soon...RUC keeps insisting on mixing down 50+ by morning. Might be a bit overdone but still... 31.7F now. Unfortunately trees still ice even at 32 or 33. wonder if the wind comes with this dryslot....if so...hang on! This is truly an epic icestorm. Not yet. Not enough power outages to consider it epic yet. Ive only heard the one tree fall, and this far into 2004 we had done lost power. Luckily had a generator. But many were without power for over a week here and many locations.. We'll see what happens when the wind hits.

Just got back from a quick walk around the neighborhood and I was dodging falling branches. The light show from transformers blowing was accompanied by a chorus of police sirens... eerie. buckeye
my theory on why we stayed so cold is that, looking at unisys, an HP over the northern great lakes actually strengthened. Probably kept winds out of the northeast longer
