dilly84
Same here. Yea. 2 options really.. Apps runner, or low takes a track in the southern OV with a lot of moisture overrunning.
vespasian70
You do realize, the main storm is still forming in the gulf? I mean initially for tonight. The gulf low looks like mainly rain for us.
north pgh
Yea. 2 options really.. Apps runner, or low takes a track in the southern OV with a lot of moisture overrunning. It looks like the weekend storm may go east and the following storm will probably cut and give us rain. Would not surprise me.
vespasian70
He's an idiot. Apparently he don't buy into the freezing rain, so when it does hit the people the only wacth him will be like wtf? He's a damned idiot especially if he didn't at least say its possible.... Rain has started here.. He said .25 inch of ice tonight...light mix tomorrow...then heavy rain turning to snow later. Madmaxweather
The 00z CMC still shows that candy eye for the weekend. The hinted at an westward trend too. It also showed another hit for early next week. Just thought I would throw that out there. I am thinking most everyone in regards to this storm sees .25 ice upwards of .50 ice before we see rain but if the trend south and east continue we could see a serious situation take place across the region. carumba
Snowing moderately here in Chagrin Falls, about 1/4 to a 1/2" down in the last hour or so, picking up in intensity too.
AppsRunner
Moderate snow continues here in Bowling Green. Fairly windy too... athough its coming to from the east... so my Anemometer isn't a great place. Haven't had time to move it to a better place. Either way, approaching 2-2.5" or so... the way it's going probably another 1-2" before it ends later tonight. Even I-75 and Route 25 are in terrible shape. Heck, I witnessed a couple accidents because cars hit snow patches from drifting and flew off the road.
NEOH
New NAM for CLE: Snow: 10.0" Sleet: .67" Frz Rn: .54" Wish I was there to enjoy the mess. I'm definitely not making it home until Thursday... stuck in the fooking desert. I honestly don't know why anyone lives here. This radar looks great across N OH.... must be pouring down under those heavier returns. I'm really hoping the cold air can hold its ground this time. If there is a set up for it to do so this would be it. Can't wait to see what type of front end dump this produces come tomorrow. Like every storm, there will be the good and bad. Enormous bust potential on the northern fringes if the storm occludes rapidly.

If this front end stuff over delivers you are golden... 20+? Drifts will be ridiculous. Isn't there is only 10-20 trees per sq mile in NW OH.... virtually nothing to stop the wind but barns. Trent
Nice. Keep the updates coming. I'm watching from the sidelines Dumping snow here. The models have juiced up this front end snow a lot today but local media and NWS never bought it. Flipped through local stations at 11pm, most were calling for 1-4 or 2-4... Same as NWS. Look at national radar, it's going to dump here til morning. I think most will be severely caught off guard at daybreak. Should be an easy 6" IMO . Looks like those amounts are severly under done. You'll have 2-4 by 4am easily. Forgot to say... enjoy the snow! I think this storm has some surprises in store. Its almost impossible to say where the mixing line ends up.
wxdudemike
ASOS operations says that report was a fluke...Was wondering how that happened. Looks like the precip is shifting south a bit. Could be quite nasty by morning....I'd say we have several hundredths already.
ukrocks
Just an FYI, the warm air is very powerful. It is 53 degrees here at this hour. Two hours ago it was 44 degrees. And to think that 70 miles is the distance I need to be in a historic winter storm. I can only hope I get a severe thunderstorm. Would not be shocked if we can get too 60 tomorrow or even the mid 60's.

OHSnow
A potpourri of weather across northern Ohio. Snowfall rates of over an inch per hour and freezing rain rates approaching .1" per hour in spots. Mansfield -- Moderate freezing rain, 19 Akron/Canton -- Light freezing rain, 22 Cleveland -- Light snow, 18 Youngstown -- Light sleet and snow, 22 Toledo -- Light snow, 14 Findlay -- Light snow,
OHweather
We are still hanging onto all snow here although based on the obs the ZR/snow line is within 20 miles of my location. Am racking up close to an inch per hour and the heavier returns keep on coming. Should be a widespread 4-7" by morning where we stay all snow and up to a quarter inch of glaze. Freezing rain with surface temps near 20 can obviously cause major problems.

OHweather
It's still snowing but the flakes are really being melted down on the way down and are significantly rimed...not truly sleet nor snow about a 50/50 mix. The flakes aren't completely melting on the way down but are close. 20 degrees.

Trent
Just went out and measured 4.5" of extremely dense synoptic snow. Something the CLE area has not seen all winter. This started just 3 hours ago, so impressive rates. Judging by radar it's almost over with. But wow, imagine if this could have hung on a bit longer.
