weatherwiz
Speaking of records... Here's something interesting that was sent yesterday for BDL... RECORD EVENT REPORT NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE TAUNTON MA 1035 AM EST THU FEB 10 2011 ...JANUARY 2011 WAS THE SNOWIEST JANUARY AND SNOWIEST MONTH ON RECORD AT BRADLEY INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT IN WINDSOR LOCKS CT... JANUARY 2011 SNOW TOTALED 54.3 INCHES AT BRADLEY INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT IN WINDSOR LOCKS CONNECTICUT. THIS BREAKS THE JANUARY RECORD 43.1 INCHES SET IN 1996. THE PREVIOUS SNOWIEST MONTH ON RECORD WAS 45.3 INCHES SET IN DECEMBER 1945. THE DAILY SNOW TOTAL FOR 1/8/11 HAS BEEN CORRECTED TO 3.4 INCHES. OFFICIAL RECORDS HAVE BEEN KEPT IN THE HARTFORD AREA SINCE 1905. Interesting, eh? --Turtle Ahh yes...much more accurate...much more in line with totals from this part of the state...the highest totals were located more towards the southern part of the county down into southern CT. Cities like New Britain, Glastonbury, Wethersfield, Manchester, South Windsor, WEst Hartford, Newington, North Granby, and Enfield all had between 3'' and 4.6''. I tried a week or so ago, but was balked. We'll see... --Turtle

There's still the 3.8 from 1/7 which is correct for that event. The new 3.4" on 1/8 must be still counting the bogus 3.3" from the second trough later on the 8th. No way they got that especially with a report of 0.5" from E. Granby. Its a start anyway

CoastalWx
They need to correct the ORH snow measurement on 1/18 of 3.6" That is an obvious error.
