kab2791
Not gonna do it. Close, but it ends up like 12z pretty much. MI fares much better this run. SLP little NW
snowstormcanuck
imby-centric but it looks like the 18z GFS will be a small improvement over the 12z run.
Baum
board needs to establish an even keel here. Optimism is warranted at this point....but long way to go. Hate to see everyone rush to A king's suicide booth if this thing implodes. Just the model swings over the next 48 hours are going to wear some posters thin by ground zero...watch and savor the fight but caution is advised...fair warning. BowMeHunter
Good to see it brought better pricip in to chi-town.. Baby steps this far out is all we want. GFS was a steaming mess with the last east coast storm with sending it out to sea for many runs.. I have very little trust in that or any model this far out.. especially with the setup. At least we're not seeing no wild swings NW or SE and sorta coming to a consensus zone maybe

jhamps10
I would start to prepare for a major ice storm along and south of I70. agreed Friv. and areas north of 70, get ready for a good deal of snow, i still can't get 2006 out of my mind on this one. The_Global_Warmer
Totally agree... I am starting to think a massive area of sleet a good 50-100 mile wide area will have a lot of sleet, with good accums for someone. in 1999 we had 5 inches of sleet here in like 6-8 hours it was insane, it was like small rock hail pouring. that was on top of 6 inches of snow.... but it was more like 7-8 since the sleet was heavy. I think more like 1999 but warmer. 2006 screwed everyone out front..that won't happen here. there will be much more snow and ice out front. Thundersnow12
sfc low is a tad nw of the 12z run and as a few have said, brings better snow into chicagoland. really like where we sit right now in northern IL

BowMeHunter
SNE gets hits pretty hard. GFS must be close. This is a perfect swfe setup for them.
natecast
Tulsa gets creamed on this run. This thing may amp up after it's past OKC. Still show .50-.75" QPF before all is set and done, which I would take right now if I had to.
Macintosh
I would start to prepare for a major ice storm along and south of I70. Hard to say how much accum we might get but storm-level criteria could certainly be met.
