OSUmetstud
weird that the pure clippers this year have really been crap and tended to look good 3-5 days ahead only to turn into pretty much nothing. Even that fluff bomb had some help from a southern stream shortwave.
mahk_webstah
joining the dusting party...very light flakes slowly leaving a coating. no returns on the radar now, but snow starting to develop up here right over us.

Usually you need help from all types of storms to be doing this well

Usually you need help from all types of storms to be doing this well Yeah it's odd. I didn't really pay much attention. I remember looking a couple of days ago and most models had .25" or thereabouts in the area. Looked today and although it was a close scrape it look like a solid dusting to 2". Wow, just got uglier. Also may show that the 18z/6z are useful at times in terms of pointing out trends. We need the break anyway...hopefully the models continue SE with the big dog. Bostonseminole
Be lucky to see flurries/dusting with the Saturday clipper. What looked kind of promising a few days ago has been uglier in stages. I guess the good news for SNE is that the trend was south...and probably will be with the next one. yeah, NAM stunk, I guess we wait for the next system. Logan11
I thought that event of a week ago Thur/Fri was essentially a clipper that redeveloped off NE.... yeah theyve really sucked this year...which is surprising given the type of winter we're having. OSUmetstud
I thought that event of a week ago Thur/Fri was essentially a clipper that redeveloped off NE.... It was...but there was a phasing element with the southern stream as opposed to a pure northern stream system.

weathafella
Flakes here as well. I'm pretty sure we're going to add plenty of snow and maybe some sleet next week. Literally, in densely populated areas, there is NO room to put the snow.

Weird that in some places, they use snow-making machines, others, not so much...

MaineJayhawk
I just looked out the window and see that I, too, had a heavy dusting overnight. Went out and measured 0.2" with a few stray flakes flittering to the ground. Traffic is at a standstill.
