Still sitting at 40.8 for the last 45 minutes. Tell you what, the GFS has this area getting pummelled later this evening - from the deformation band I think?....If we change over to snow (even halfway thru) I would think we get signficant accumluation before ending (3 to 4 inches). Both the NAM and GFS now has southside over 1 inch QPF

Just reviewed the latest models. Here's why the weather service and many tv guys are getting it wrong. The temps this evening will fall into the mid 30s. They think it will be mixed prec. because of this...but it's snowing in Williamsburg at 37 during the mid to late afternoon hours. When the heavy prec. arrives, it will drag down the colder air ALL the models are showing just above the ground and cause any mixed prec to quickly change to all snow. The snow will be very heavy and accumulate everywhere fast! I am increasing my storm totals as follows and including the big cities and counties. Roads will quickly become snow-covered by mid evening in most places - Jon Cash

Virginia Beach: 3-6"

Portsmouth 3-6"

Chesapeake 3-6"

Norfolk 3-6"

Suffolk 4-7"

Hampton 3-6"

Newport News 4-7"

Williamsburg 4-8"

Franklin 4-7"

Gloucester 4-7"

Elizabeth City 2-4"

Ahoskie 3-6"

Outer Banks 1-3'

Eastern Shore 3-6"
