SeVa
Map looks decent for the burg. That is not total snowfall but rather 3hr totals. There is no way in hell that verifies
VAB1
12z NAM is rocking and rolling for all of SE VA by 1am Monday. 850mb at -6 and moderate precip. I'd say at least 1 inch for the southside and several inches just North and West.
WeSuck
As posted in the se thread, if this baby really cranks nice off hatteras then we may get heavy snow with good ratios. I would put more than 1 inch if this happens. Warmer water than normal this year as well may really help us out

VAB1
Kind of weird 12z GFS run. Definitely tracks the low further south than the NAM but is somehow still running warmer than the NAM. Still can probably squeeze an inch out of it in Southside HR after midnight Sunday.

cmichweather
Hey everyone! Sorry this is OT but i'm not sure if I would get you guys to respond if I posted it over in OT. I'm moving to the area in a week or so doing contract work for NASA langley. We have decided on an apartment off of bland between jefferson and warwick. Any advice about the area, I've heard Newport News has some bad areas near downtown but I was wondering if any of you have any experience about the area i'm moving too. Also if my gf were to get a job in Norfolk how awful is the drive across the bridge and how often is it closed or significantly delayed because of accidents? Thanks for any advice you can give me and i'm looking forward to contributing to this part of the forum.
Martin
Tricky with the temps but this was a pretty decent run for us
SeVa
Welcome to the area! Up near the airport is fine. You just want to avoid the east end of Newport News. If your gf is doing that drive everyday, she might not be too happy. You got to definitely budget in a cushion of time to account for delays. She is semi retired now but for over 30 years she took the Hampton Roads Bridge Tunnel from Norfolk to Hampton. The drive is probably going to suck but its not the end of the world. If you time it right each day you can avoid some of the worst congestion. Also the new-ish Monitor Merrimack Bridge Tunnel is a great alternative (though a bit out of the way for Norfolk) to avoid the HRBT. Can't say I know that area well but Newport News does have some pretty shady areas. I think that area isn't too bad. What are you doing at NASA? Thanks for the info I'm going to be working on the upcoming SAGE III ISS project that is scheduled to launch in 2014-2015. The sensor will be mounted on the International Space Station to monitor ozone and stratospheric aerosols. Basically a ton of algorithm development for the sensor and testing before launch then after launch product delivery, debugging, and research on the data. WeSuck
The 12z ECMWF Ensemble is actually very similar if not slightly further south than the operational run. At 42 hours the ensemble mean low center is over souther MS just NW of Mobile bay. At 48 hours south-central AL. At 54 hours the mean contour is strung out so it is hard to say exactly where the center is but probably just north or northwest of SAV. At hour 60 is is probably 50-75 milles due east of ILM, due south of HAT. At 66, is is probably 150 miles ESE of HAT. Sick nasty. I would rather have euro on our side instead of nam
