40/70 Benchmark
Can you imagine being under that. Normally I complain about severe cold, but I have even found myself enjoying that this winter.....this particular season has just been food for the soul. Its easier to enjoy below 0 temps when there is 2-3 feet of snow on the ground. Jan 2004 conditions with 2" of old rotting powder the entire month with temps of -10F don't exactly inspire a lot of weather happiness for a predominately snow lover. ORH_wxman
Tons of roof collpases in Ct yesterday and today..Homes and businesses.. Getting pretty crazy They need to build more slanted roofs there. We've actually had a lot of snow avalanches coming off roofs here. Haven't heard about a lot of collapses though I'm sure there are some. The schools are most at risk because they all have flat roofs...but most of them have terrible insulation too so the roof gets really warm from escaping heat and generally does a good job at melting snow. MJHUB
Tons of roof collpases in Ct yesterday and today..Homes and businesses.. Getting pretty crazy Elementry school in Foster,RI roof collapsed, canceled school in the district for the day. Looking at the coolwx data on the 00z and 6z show all snow for KPVD, still watching for out for the possbility of icing for the Tues/Wed timeframe. tavwtby
Tons of roof collpases in Ct yesterday and today..Homes and businesses.. Getting pretty crazy I'm gonna be getting up on the roof to shovel before this next event, be it a cutter or dumper. My roof was suspect prior to winter, now there is over two feet on it. I'm pretty nervous, especially with preggo wife home all day.

I was up in Quebec NW of Montreal for PD II and it was stunningly lovely. 24" of snow on the ground. crystal clear skies and temps approaching -30. Of course, I spent most of the trip sobbing in my room watching Boston TV.

Zeus
Catch a ride with Jerry tomorrow to the GTG..and wear your Banana hammock I try not to tempt the beast with weak restraints. I actually really like the overall setup for this next threat... it's a little dicey, but there seems to be a decent enough brick wall to the north in play to keep things frozen.
